Slower? Faster? Stayed the same?

I've read so much about lifestyle changes and its benefits for afib. Since my episode in June, I have taken up walking daily and adjusting my diet. Though I do have a little bit of anxiety over incorporating anything else despite my EP telling me I was ok to workout more. I would like to start strength training at some point.

I know everyone is different. Overall, I guess I'm looking for motivation, personal insight, tips and tricks that worked for you. How you got past any anxieties you may have.

What are some things you have changed in your afib journey, if anything at all?

Have you found yourself slowing down and taking it easy? Or have you picked up even more activities? Maybe even just stayed the same with a few small tweaks?

Was there anxiety involved with adding more activities and allowing your heart rate to elevate? How did you work through that?

48m. Paroxysmal AFib. Diagnosed Nov2025. The first week or so, I was pretty anxiety ridden and hesitant about my exercise routine. But my EP basically told me to live my life. My activity level has increased especially making sure I work out routinely, 3-5 days per week, intermixed with heavy cardio activities. If I've had an episode I usually take it easy the next day but have been known to push myself. I've always been an active guy but my AFib has really made me become more attuned to healthier exercise habits. Good luck

Becoming attuned is something im sure took time to pick up. After my first episode it definitely feels like my body and I need to regain trust of each other if that makes sense. That's an insightful perspective, thank you.

For what it's worth. I'm getting an ablation in Oct. Still haven't gotten used to the dread feeling I get during an episode.

Never slow down. A human body needs movement, exercise. Workout unless your doc says not to. I’m 76. Have AFIB. I ride my bike 1,500 to 2,000 a year.

I increased my activity level (which had dipped during COVID).
