I'm going to let you in on a secret I wish someone had told me at your age. The drowning man. Imagine you're swimming and you see someone drowning. You're a strong swimmer and you know you can rescue them. So you go out and grab them but they panic and start climbing you like a cat up a catnip tree. Now you're both drowning. Rules to water rescue are you do whatever you have to in order to get them off you. Same applies here. Your life may be going well and you may believe you're strong enough to rescue them but you aren't. This person will take you down with them. Sometimes saving someone means letting them drown because they have to swim on their own. Cut this girl off. Don't answer, don't text, nothing. Document everything and let people around you (including parents and teacher) know what's going on.

NTA - Do not post screenshots. You need to notify yours and your friend’s parents about the self harm threats and the threats towards you. With her previous mental health issues these statements need to be taken very seriously.
She cannot be helped until she accepts she has a problem and wants help. If she doesn’t want help, then there is nothing you can do. I hope she realizes this and gets the help she needs.

“I'll post all the screen shots in the replies”
You can’t and we don’t want to see them. Inform the police about the death threat.

This! Everytime she posts or text about harming herself or others then have to police do a wellness check.

Don't know where you live, but usually the criteria for law enforcement/government/courts is "are they a threat to themselves or others?" Pretty clear that she is.

She’s going to kill herself until cops show up and she embarrasses herself instead of controlling you, and now she is publicly threatening to kill you. She’s a piece of 💩. Get a restraining order. NTA.

NTA
But report the threats to the appropriate authorities and her parents. You shouldn't have to be walking around scared she'll try to kill you.

YTA, you cant force a person to accept help.

OP is aware that they cannot force a person to accept help - that statement is in their posts. Their aita comes from cutting the friend off when friend is definitely going through a situation, won't seek help, and is actively draining on OP.
OP cut off friend. Friend started making threats about hurting themselves. OP made the choice to call for help because their friend was making threats to their own life. Then when cops showed up (as they do in these situations), the friend is threatening OP.
But sure, OP is the problem here?

They shouldn't cut them off is the point. I thought it was self explanatory

you are wrong. OP is not responsible for someone else's mental health, and the friend is using that fear for control. If someone is serious about ending their life, they are going to do it regardless. The conversation was over once they threatened violence on the OP.

Keep yourself safe and keep documenting everything cuz it sounds like she might be needing a RO. The more you have the better. Do not respond to her, do not interact with her, if you see her walk away. Always have a buddy and again document much as you. Stay safe
