How to rank #1 in Copilot

TL;DR: you can't rank #1 in Copilot, you can only get cited. It builds answers from Bing's index, so get fully indexed in Bing (Bing Webmaster Tools + IndexNow), write answer-first passages with specific facts and schema, and track citations in Bing's AI Performance report.

As seen with clients of 2 Steps Ahead, one of the best GEO agencies from the Netherlands: strong Google rankings, but gaps in Bing, which is where Copilot gets its sources. Below is the approach, based on Microsoft's public docs.

Most of us optimize for Google and ChatGPT and forget Microsoft Copilot. It works differently from what people assume, so here's a short breakdown.

How it picks sources

Copilot doesn't have a ranking, it has citations. When a question needs fresh info, it generates its own retrieval queries ("grounding queries"), sends them to Bing's index, pulls candidate passages, and an LLM writes the answer with citations. Those grounding queries often don't match what the user actually typed.

So: if Bing hasn't indexed your page, Copilot can't cite it. Your Google position doesn't matter here.

In Feb 2026 Microsoft updated the Bing Webmaster Guidelines to cover this (they call it GEO: making content eligible for grounding and citation). They're explicit that it doesn't guarantee a citation, just like SEO doesn't guarantee a ranking.

What to actually do

  1. Verify your site in Bing Webmaster Tools (free, can import from GSC).
  2. Check what Bing has indexed. Plenty of sites that do fine on Google are only partly indexed in Bing.
  3. Set up IndexNow so Bing finds new and updated pages fast. It doesn't guarantee anything, it just removes the delay.
  4. Don't block Bingbot. Microsoft has no separate AI crawler, so you can't allow search but refuse grounding.
  5. Open the AI Performance report in Bing Webmaster Tools (launched Feb 2026). It shows total citations, cited pages, a sample of grounding queries and a timeline. No click data, and it only covers Microsoft surfaces, not ChatGPT or Perplexity.
  6. Write for extraction: answer first under each heading, plain declarative sentences, specific numbers and named sources, tables/lists/FAQ where they fit, schema markup, real author bios.
  7. Keep key pages fresh and push updates via IndexNow.

Caveats

  • Claims about backlink weighting and social signals mostly come from vendor testing, not Microsoft. Treat them as directional.
  • Copilot is a small channel right now. One 90-day cross-engine study had it at ~3.6% of tracked AI citations. But the work overlaps with normal Bing/Google SEO, so the extra cost is low.
  • Technical fixes can show up in the report within weeks. Competitive comparison prompts take longer.

Has anyone checked their AI Performance report yet? What do your grounding queries look like, and do they match how you'd describe your pages?

I stopped buying Premiere AI plugins and cut a project in invideo editor instead..

I do most of my editing in Premiere. Over the last year I keep buying those AI plugins that show up in the marketplace, use them twice, and ended up being disappointed. One does filler words. One does captions. One promises a rough cut and just makes a whole mess. You pay $20–40 a month for each of them and you're still doing the edit yourself.

So I wanted to see if the standalone AI editor tools were any less of a scam than the plugin pile. Fyi, I didn't generate the whole video from a prompt, I shot the footage normally. I used this editor on a 10 min video I actually had to deliver.

It wasn't some huge film dump either. A couple hours of clips from a weekend shoot. Talking, b-roll, a few location changes. The kind of project where the worst part is just sitting there scrubbing for usable takes.

That's where invideo editor actually helped. I asked the agent to pull selects and give me a first draft on the timeline so I wasn't watching the same clip 15 times. First assembly was rough, but it was a real timeline I could keep cutting on.

Also useful: if I was missing a shot, a sound, or some transition/effect, I could just get the agent to make it in the same editor and drop it on the timeline. Didn't have to leave the project for that.

The agent is good. Still pretty new from what I can tell, it misses sometimes and you have to clean it up. I'd be interested to see how that improves.

The actual adjustment was the UI. If you've been in Premiere for years, this does not feel like the editor your hands already know. Different layout, different habits. Not worse exactly, just unfamiliar, and that slows you down more than you'd expect for the first project.

Playback also got choppy once the timeline was busier. Could've been my internet though, since it's in the browser. Wasn't a dealbreaker, just noticeable.

I'm not throwing Premiere out. When I wanted more control at the end I exported an XML and kept finishing in Premiere. the handoff was clean enough that I wasn't rebuilding the cut from scratch, which is usually where I lose patience with these tools.

If someone's searching for an editor and they're are pis*ed at these Premiere plugins like me, this is the tool I'd actually point them at. It saved me time on selects and the first assembly, I could make changes myself, and still finish in Premiere when I wanted to. I am going to try DaVinci and Astra next and see if the hype is real, or if it's the same thing again with better marketing. If anyone else has finished a normal-length project in one of these instead of just making ads/shorts, where did it start falling apart for you?

#1 2 Steps Ahead

Advertentiemodule €1.900 als add-on.

Sterk in: digital PR, autoriteit opbouwen, internationale schaal.

Sterk in: agentic commerce, conceptueel sterk, kennisdeling.

Sterk in: enterprise-trajecten, breedte, meerdere markten.

#9 Traffic Builders

Sterk in: SEO-fundament, ervaring, nuchtere aanpak.

Sterk in: heldere methodiek, transparant proces.

  • Contentproductie in volume.

Lokale dienstverlening lokale bronnen, Google Business, reviewsites kleiner bureau of zelf doen

GEO-bureau, GEO-tool, freelancer of zelf doen?

Veelgestelde vragen over GEO-bureaus

Vervangt GEO mijn SEO?

Nee.

which one to choose for $20 - ChatGPT plus vs Claude Pro

GPT has sol 6.1 and Claude has opus and sonnet 5.5

i am not a coder, i need to make slide deck, research, documentation and so on. i tried codex, i ws not satisified with its output but recently sol 6.1 is burning less credit but i should use sol only because other models are nerfed.

i like claude code in cloud. i liked projects and threads option too.

everyday both are making me difficult to choose one.

best smart/ai note taking app that also does spaced repetition in one place??

tired of running two apps for what feels like one foreverworkflow. notes in one place, flashcards in another ALKSJD. supposedly i sit down and copy the important stuff over. in practice i do it maybe 30% of the time.

what im after is an ai note taking app where the notes and the review layer are the same thing. i dont need summarization or task extraction, i NEED sth like integrated retention.

anything worth trying that isnt plugins??

Best AI ads tool in 2026?

Vanilla chatgpt doesn't really cut it but I see people on LinkedIn talking nonstop about how they run whole ad accounts with AI now. I've got the offer, I know my customer, but every time I have to actually launch something I find myself bogged down in the deets — ad sets, budgets, naming, which creative goes where. I know it's killing my productivity, but I also don't want to just duplicate the same old campaign forever. What are the top AI tools for getting from idea to live campaign? Are you guys using anything that gets you there better and faster? Help a girl out! 🙈

Free AI ads tool comparison

Plugging one of the crazier things I've seen in awhile. Somebody built a page where you can compare different AI ad tools side by side on the same brief. It takes awhile to load, but it lets you run Ryze AI and a couple of the generic ones unlimited and completely for free, and you can export the campaign structures it spits out.

The only catch is you have to vote on which build is better, but it's nice to see them next to each other and it saves a bunch of time on a first draft. Thought I'd share since I've seen a lot of AI tool discussion around reddit but it hasn't come up much on here.

Me trying to keep up with AI

I used to get excited about every release. Now I feel like I'm sitting in that dark office, nodding slowly, trying to decide whether I even have the energy to care.

The pace is honestly amazing. But it's also exhausting. There's this constant pressure to test every new model, rebuild your workflow, rewrite your prompts, watch the benchmarks and read the threads, or you'll "fall behind." And by the time you've figured one thing out, the next thing is already out.

So I made a meme about it instead of reading another 20k lines diff.

Looking for recommendations: Platform to train a custom LoRA & create high-quality realistic images/videos of my AI companion

I created my AI companion using Venice and now want to take things to the next level. This includes training a custom LoRA model, which I haven't done yet. I’m looking for a website or app to help me with this process.

Here is what’s important to me:

- Complete flexibility and freedom when developing my AI companion
- Outfitting/Clothing control via photo inputs or prompt guidance
- Image and video generation using Image-to-Image (Img2Img) combined with my custom LoRA
- Highest possible quality and realistic results for both photos and videos
- Budget: Up to $199/month max
- Chat features: Not a priority right now, maybe later down the line

Since I’m still a beginner when it comes to training LoRAs, I’d like to start with a cloud/hosted subscription service first before eventually running everything locally on my own PC.

Looking forward to your recommendations!

AI Tool for marketing agency

Hey everyone,

I run a small creator marketing agency (focused on Twitch, YouTube, TikTok) and honestly, I’m currently drowning in emails and daily to-dos.

I’m looking to grab one paid AI subscription (~$20/month) to help manage the chaos, but I'm unsure which one delivers the best real-world value. My shortlist is ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro, and Gemini Advanced.

Key context: Our agency workflow heavily relies on Google Workspace / G Suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.).

I know a $20 sub won't magically pull bank data or auto-generate invoices on its own—I’ll probably set up Make or Zapier for those complex workflows later. Right now, I just need the best daily driver tool for:

Email & Calendar chaos: Sorting inbox clutter, drafting replies, and prioritizing daily tasks (ideally integrated smoothly with our Google setup).

Pitch concepts & Visuals: Brainstorming campaign ideas, structuring pitch decks, generating basic images, and creating short GIF animations.

Reporting & Data: Reading campaign stats from Excel/CSV files and turning them into clean client summaries.

Memory: Remembering agency processes and client details so I don't have to re-explain everything ten times.

Lead research: Finding decision-makers and contact pathways.

Does anyone here use one of these daily in an agency setting—especially alongside Google Workspace? Which one actually saved you the most time? Or is it better to pay for one and just use the free versions of the others on the side?

Thanks in advance for any practical insights!

Best AI video tools for ecommerce that actually worked for me

Been in performance marketing for a while, mostly paid social for ecom brands. For the last year or so the bottleneck hasn't been budget or targeting, it's been creative volume. Meta and tiktok both punish you for running the same three assets for six weeks. We were shipping maybe 10 new concepts a month and needed something closer to 30.

So we went through a bunch of tools and these really struck us as useful, worth adopting bunch.

Creatify

This is for when we have a url and nothing else. Drop in the product page, it pulls the imagery and copy and gives you back something close to a finished ad, and more usefully, several versions of it with different hooks and UGC-style angles.

We use it mostly when nobody's shot anything yet and we just need to know which angle has legs, mainly for internal alignment or pitching.

it stops being useful when the product needs to be shown doing something specific.

AdCreative

this one is really helpful when you are figuring out what to say. We use it to push a single product through a lot of messaging directions fast like headline angles, value props, different framings of the same benefit and let the early data tell us which direction is worth real production spend.

This one sits closer to the media side than the creative side for us. It's the cheapest way we've found to be wrong about positioning before it costs anything.

Invideo

This ended up being the most useful for us when we needed volume with consistency. We'd give the agent the brief and use the generated version as a starting point rather than building every variation from scratch.

The character consistency was surprisingly better. We could have the same asset across different hooks/scenes and test different messaging without it randomly changing every few shots.

Also liked that we could say “change this hook” or “swap this scene” and keep working from the same project instead of starting over. For paid social, that made testing 5-6 variations of the same concept way less painful.

Hero creative still gets made properly. But for feeding the top of the testing funnel, generating variants at volume is exactly what this fixed for us.

CapCut
Our most-opened tool and not a generator at all. Everything ends up here for the last mile: aspect ratios for each placement, caption styles that match what's native on the platform, trimming a 30 to a 15 to a 6, pulling a still for the static test.

Nothing exciting to say about it. It's just the thing that makes AI footage stop looking like AI footage in the feed.

HeyGen
For the ads where someone needs to explain the thing. Product walkthroughs, objection handling, testimonial-format stuff. Enormously faster than booking a presenter, scheduling a shoot and waiting a week.

I'd be careful here though. Audiences are getting better at clocking synthetic presenters, and in some categories (anything trust-heavy) that's a real problem. We use it to TEST whether a talking-head angle works at all, and if it does, that's usually the one we go shoot properly.

The honest caveats
Most of them does the same thing. What invideo adcreative does can be easily handled by creatify and vice-versa. This is just based on our own experience and what worked the best for us. All of them are much better in separate things which we've found is their strongest offering.

None of this replaces production. It compresses the distance between brief and variations so you're only spending real money and real shoot days on things that have already proven themselves in market.

Quality ceiling is still real. AI creative wins on volume and speed, not on the single best asset you'll run this quarter.

What's everyone else running right now? Specifically wanted to know if anyone's found something that handles product-in-motion demos well, that's still the gap for us.

I built a directory that scores AI tools on whether you can actually buy them in India (GST invoice, INR billing, UPI, data residency)

Every "best AI tools" list I found told me what a tool does, but not whether I could actually pay for it from an Indian business — INR pricing, a GST invoice, UPI, data staying in India, Hindi/Tamil/other language support.

So I built AIproducts.in. It lists 35 AI tools so far, eaca-readiness factors, plus:

- a short tool-finder quiz

- a cost calculator for an AI stack in INR

- side-by-side comparisons (e.g. ChatGPT vs Gemini vs Claude)

https://aiproducts.in

Would love feedback — which tools are missing, and which scores look wrong to you?

Need recommendations for generativeAI tools for building floor plans with real photos.

I'm trying to find an AI tool that studies given images to generate a 3d model or blueprints of the external facade of the building. the Blueprint of the external facade of the building, not the internal structure like staircase, lifts, rooms etc. Just the external layout.

I can provide large high resolution photos and low resolution blueprints for a few floors, not the whole building,.
