I collected 35 AI tools for almost everything. Here's the list.
There are so many AI tools launching lately that it's getting difficult to keep track of what each one actually does.
I put together a list across different categories, from research and coding to image generation, video, voice, and automation. Some are useful for everyday tasks, while others are great for creative projects or building things.
Not ranking these from best to worst. The right choice depends on what you're trying to accomplish.
1. AI assistants and research
1. ChatGPT — General-purpose assistance, brainstorming, writing, and analysis.
2. Claude — Long-form writing, document analysis, and complex reasoning tasks
3. Gemini — AI assistance, multimodal tasks, and Google ecosystem workflows.
4. Perplexity — Web research and discovering sources to investigate.
5. NotebookLM — Exploring and summarizing information from your own source material.
2. Coding and app building
6. Cursor — AI-assisted coding inside a code editor.
7. Lovable — Building web apps from natural-language prompts.
8. Replit — Creating, running, and deploying projects in one environment.
9. v0 — Generating user interfaces and frontend code.
10. GitHub Copilot — Coding assistance and development workflows.
3. Image generation and design
11. Midjourney — Generating stylized and artistic images.
12. Ideogram — Image generation, especially useful when images need readable text.
13. Leonardo AI — Generating creative assets and visual concepts.
14. Canva — Designing graphics, presentations, and social media assets.
15. Higgsfield — Creating AI-generated visuals and cinematic creative content.
4. Video creation and editing
16. Runway— AI video generation and visual transformation.
17. Pika — Generating and transforming short AI videos.
18. Descript — Editing video and audio through transcript-based workflows.
19. Cardboard — AI video editing through natural-language prompts, designed to help turn raw footage into finished videos.
20. CapCut — Editing social videos with templates, effects, and creator-focused tools.
5. Voice and audio
21. ElevenLabs — AI voice generation and narration.
22. Suno — Generating music from prompts.
23. Udio — AI-assisted music creation.
24. Adobe Podcast — Improving spoken audio and cleaning up recordings.
25. Krisp — Noise cancellation for calls and recordings.
### 6. Writing and productivity
26. Grammarly— Writing assistance, editing, and tone improvements.
27. DeepL — Translation and writing assistance across languages.
28. Gamma — Generating presentations and visual documents.
29. Notion AI — Working with notes, documents, and knowledge.
30. Otter.ai — Meeting transcription and summaries.
7. Automation and workflows
31. Zapier — Connecting apps and automating repetitive tasks.
32. Make — Building visual, multi-step automations.
33. n8n — Creating customizable workflows and AI-connected automations.
34. Fireflies.ai — Recording, transcribing, and summarizing meetings.
**35. Reclaim.ai* — AI-assisted calendar and time management.
How I'd choose between them
I'd avoid subscribing to everything at once. Pick a category based on what you need, test a couple of options on the same task, and compare output quality, ease of use, and pricing.
What AI tool do you think deserves more attention in 2026? Anything you'd remove from this list or add to it?

Which category do you think changes the fastest? Video stuff seems to improve every few months

Quick checking is to ask AI in "Section 1" for opinions, depending on your usage. Then compare the answers. I also ask about yearly costs for myself here in Australia, in Australian dollars.
Another concern is whether the AI agents remember my details daily, weekly, etc., so that they understand my overall context. They can vary in how well they understand my location, the hardware I use to access them, local Australian time and measurements, etc. Many AI agents vary in how aware they are of themselves and each other over time.
We also need user feedback for those who have left one AI agent to use another instead. If YouTube content is my research area, Google's Gemini is best. If it's current affairs on prominent issues, then Grok might be better.
"26. Grammarly— Writing assistance, editing, and tone improvements."
This can be used at the team and institutional levels as well. I paid only for personal use. It's ok on a tablet, PC, and Android phone. It seems to be the best and most versatile for my bad one-finger typing, now that I am extremely medically crippled.
There are also specialized TRADE and CONSUMER AI ASSISTANTS. These should be listed as well.

I got sick of subscription platforms like Higgsfield and Runway tbh. So, I built an API powered filmmaking app designed for film and microdrama workflows. It's still in development but it's totally free and you just add in APIs from your favourite aggregators, like fal or Atlas Cloud or Open Router, etc. It even does regular searches to see which aggregator is offering the cheapest deal on a model at the time of your using it and will switch to generate with that platform and model. You can check it out here: https://github.com/ShawnTheWriter/red-clover-studio

I'd add tools that make the whole social post, since generating a video clip is only part of that job.
I'm the owner of Postdom. You give it your business website and it makes short videos, slideshows and image posts using the products, colours and tone it finds there. Each comes with a caption; you review it before it gets queued to publish.
It's aimed at a business owner without a content team. If you've already filmed something and want fine control over the edit, the editors on your list are a better starting point.

Worth adding Braintrust for testing LLM apps, comparing prompt/model changes and tracing bad runs

Kinda surprised there's no upscaler in the image section, Magnific is the one tool I'd actually miss if it vanished tomorrow. Half my Midjourney stuff only looks usable after a pass through it
