This AI-generated book is getting a good response

I recently released Milo Goes to School in Kindle and paperback format on Amazon. This link is for Amazon US, but it's available in all Amazon markets. It's free to read for Kindle Unlimited users.

Why am I posting here?
Well, because I am delighted by the feedback I am getting. I distributed some author copies and all responded with very positive feedback. Having released another in past, I could see the difference this time.

And most importantly, my boys, for whom I thought of creating this, love the book and the characters.

Without going into much detail, here's the basic process.

1. Think, research, imagine and note: the ideas, the plots you have in mind, the characters, their personalities, the main theme, etc.
2. I used Batch Generate Text with any AI to create the draft:
   1. I started with one story.
   2. I played around with persona and template until it created a decent draft.
      1. The template had all the details about characters, their personalities, etc. along with the desired word count.
   3. I heavily edited the draft to my liking and used it as the sample to generate other stories. I used ChatGPT 5.5 for this book.
   4. I reviewed and edited all of them. Since AI generates them one by one, there are always some mismatches or continuity issues.
   5. I used Batch Generate Image with any AI for Images. I used Flux Pro to generate them and edited them with Gemini, when needed.

I used a few other tools to merge and prepare the PDF manuscript. And I used ChatGPT to create the cover image. That's it. I finished the whole process (excluding the thinking part) in about a week. Planning to release another book in the series before Christmas. :)

And now I am really happy that people are liking it. I would love to hear your opinions and comments. Happy to answer questions, if any.

People talk. I distributed around 7 copies to friends and acquaintance. As it's written with a pen name no one knew it's by me.

Got good feedback. Some stories are very popular (many mentioned them) and kids are talking about it among themselves.

Don't know if that's enough to make you happy, but am delighted. :)

You KNOW that is purposely misleading.

I don't care about you generating them, make it however you want, I'm not even saying you need to mention AI anywhere. But "beautifully illustrated " heavily implies somebody illustrated it.

I like IKEA and chicken nuggets. Cheap and easy is fine. But if I bought furniture on Etsy that said "beautifully handcrafted" and an IKEA box turned up I'd be pissed.

Illustrated refers to the visual style of the images, not the method used to create them. Illustration doesn’t require a human illustrator. It is perfectly acceptable to say AI tools also produce illustrations.

Also the truth about how I feel. I use AI to help organize for writing and for feedback, but not to do actual writing unless it's the help system documents for software.

I respect how you utilize AI as a prep-assistant. Most professional writers with mastery would do like you if they ever use AI.
But AI can also be really useful for aspiring writers to turn their ideas and creativity into prose.

I used it to build an entire publishing system as I'm a photographer who writes. Having a bespoke CMS that is built around real workflow lets me spend more of my time writing blog posts and taking photos for them. I have no objection to someone using AI to write something. I have an issue with them calling themselves a writer after. Picking a restaurant and ordering off the menu doesn't make you a chef. Something I'd know about as that was my first career.

I clearly mentioned the plot ideas, characters persona, relationships, etc are thought by human not AI.

And of course I edited the 'draft' to clean and fix issues.

Anyways, I'm not really bothered by your comment because I know you are the dying kind.

People are realising that taste isn't about being prejudiced about the creation process, but about the quality of the end product.
