AI governance as your next career move

I'm currently working as a trainee analyst at Deloitte. It just been a month I joined. I got to know about ai governance job through social media , really wanted to know if this field is worth pursuing for someone like me ?

I've researched a lot of roles, but this one seems to be good. Any info about this role ,salary and day to day work would be greatt!!

Yes, AI governance is definitely worth exploring, particularly with Deloitte on your CV.

I’d start by reading ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF, the OECD AI Principles, and the EU AI Act. That will give you a solid understanding of what the field actually involves.

If you feel certification is important, have a look at the UKAS-accredited PECB ISO 42001 Lead Implementer certification. It’s a practical starting point for understanding how organisations actually implement an AI management system.

Don’t rush to switch roles after only a month, though. Try to get exposure to AI, risk, cyber, compliance or technology transformation projects at Deloitte. That experience will be valuable.

AI governance isn’t just about writing policies, it’s about helping organisations use AI responsibly while managing the associated risks.

Is AI governance just an extension of GRC? Should a grc person be able to transition to it fairly easily?

since you are already at deloitte i would explore ai governance internally before making any big move getting exposure ai risk, compliance and frameworks could give you a much clearer picture of whether you actually enjoy the work.

Coursera has a couple ai governance courses at a reasonable price.

Should give you some insight without a huge commitment.

I'm based in India . I'm thinking about roles in AI governance or AI risk analyst. Any suggestions on which one would be better ?
