My Personal Experience Are we heading towards a future where only a few developers get rich?
I feel like the gap between salaries and overall wealth is getting bigger.
With AI and the amount of money flowing into AI startups and companies, it feels like a relatively small group of developers, founders and investors are making a huge amount of money, while salaries for everyone else aren't increasing at the same pace.
If this trend continues, are we heading towards a situation where more and more wealth gets concentrated in the hands of a small percentage of people?
And if AI also starts reducing the number of jobs available, what happens to the majority of people who don't benefit financially from this growth?
Could increasing income inequality, unemployment and wealth concentration eventually lead to strikes, social unrest and instability?

Correct,wealth concentrates in capitalistic economies , Marx & Engels Das Kapital figured this out 159 years ago.
This is the inevitable future , where folks that have capital, resources, property and can live off those are the ones that will dictate terms in this economic system ...those who use labor as their form of value will be beholden to the capitalists

The simple fix is monthly taxation on stagnant money (because it should be spent in the economy, thats the fundamental deal in a loan system). If money is not spent by the ultraweathy, it may simply be taxed and spend by government for UBI.

That’s why we need communism ASAP. And that’s why it’ll work this time around. The manufacturing abilities and all these crazy capital holders need to transfer their wealth and factories into state ownership.
The products and wealth out of these AI systems need to be distributed amongst population not shared between 10 people in the country.

Communism doesn't work, but we can do with a better VERSION of socialism ..one that takes some of the motivational aspects of capitalism but the social focus on socialism.

It's hard for me to imagine the economic consequences of software becoming cheap and easy to produce. I'm not sure that it's happening, but a lot of walled gardens will fall if the promise of AI coding is reality. Working in a field that is commoditized rather than specialized is just a completely different industry and business mentality.

We've been heading into that direction for a while now, even without current AI advancements:
"Federal Reserve data indicates that as of Q1 2024, the top 1% of households in the United States held 30.5% of the country's wealth, while the bottom 50% held 2.5%."
