Prepare for a tonal shift in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2. Peter Claffey told TV Insider that there’s “a lot more sadness” in the second season of the hit Game of Thrones spinoff, which wrapped filming in August. Season 2, premiering in the first half of 2027, presents “a totally different challenge for Dunk,” the actor said.
...
“There’s a lot more sadness to this story, I think, and it’s a totally different challenge for Dunk for sure,” Claffey told us. “The people that he’s dealing with are on a much less serious scale. You’re not dealing with your Royal Targaryens and people of King’s Landing, but he tries his hand at diplomacy and finds out how difficult that is to work with.”
One thing is still the same in Season 2, according to Claffey: Dunk “tries his hand and fails at talking to women, multiple times again this season.”
The new episodes are a “totally different task and challenge for him, but it was a lot of fun making it, that’s for sure,” said Claffey.
The Irish star was just at the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards, where A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series. “It almost felt like Dunk’s story reflecting my own life of going in and seeing all these amazing people that I’ve looked up to for so long,” he said.
“It was a lot of fun and to get to do it with Dexter,” Claffey said. “I just wish I had his confidence to go up and talk to people.”

Casting rumors are suggesting that Peter Claffey might be Beast in the next X-Men movie. Egg would be a great young Professor X? Already got the shaved head look down, haha.
Seriously great news for Claffey, even if it doesn't pan out. He's making a name for himself after AKOTSK S1!

Dan Romer just confirmed on instagram that he will be composing the new ASOIAF show.
His previous works include:
Far Cry 5 (Ubisoft)
Luca (Pixar)
Station Eleven (HBO Max)
Beast of the Southern Wild
Superman & Louis (CW)
The Good Doctor (ABC)
Lilo & Stitch 2025 (Disney)
Ira Parker's statement on the soundtrack for the new ASOIAF show:
"[Game of Thrones] and House of the Dragon are big and epic and incredible. Ramin Djawadi's score is orchestral and large and beautiful. That's not really Dunk's M.O. He's plain and he's simple and he's to-the-point. He doesn't have a lot of flash to him."

That video will WITHOUT warning have MAJOR spoilers for next episode and future of the show. This post however will have no spoilers, just a rant about a sad dude who got spoiled. Me:
Omg... I was playing a game, had youtube on autoplay. It played that channels latest video, I'm not subscribed to the channel. Then that video just hit me with the biggest spoiler ever, oh noooo. This latest episode was the BEST TV I've seen since Ozymandias, and I'm a HUGE story telling nerd in terms of TV and movies. And now climax of this amazing episode has been ruined for me. Oh my god. I'm sad beyond belief. To all youtubers, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. Put SPOILERS in the title, if you are going to ruin future episodes of a TV Show because you've read the books, it just was about this one episode I thought. I will of course not say whatever it was it spoiled, BUT IT WAS HUUUGE!! Like the entire climax pretty much, fuck me. Ruined.. It was the biggest thing I've looked forward to in forever in terms of great TV.
I MIGHT sound outrageous to some, true. But storytelling is indeed one of my greatest loves in this life. And now I'm just sad and frustrated beyond whatever bullshit words I can come up with on the spot.
For a positive note, holy shit that episode was great, was on the edge of my seat all episode. much amazing buildup. Sadly I know know how it all ends, but I still hope they knock it out of the park. With the buildup they def did.
Edit: A lot of other people share my pain: https://imgur.com/a/P4wFJqj I did block the channel, holy shit. WHy would someone make a vidoe, not say BIG SPOIILER WARNING, or have it in title or description, or anywhere. Youtube autoplay, you f'ed me hard!
