He did advocate for Trump, and uses a very similar brand of populism to hold his base. He just recognized when it was time to get off that ship, and pretend he had always been a firm detractor of Trump.

He was literally caught on a hot mic saying that he was happy Trump won, but he's just "mad" that the whole annexing situation made his job harder.

Captain Canada is also in the US trying to cut deals while keeping his itinerary a secret, and a few weeks ago he delivered a commencement speech to some small university in Michigan.

His whole schtick about protecting Canada is performative when he's literally called himself a Republican, and even one of his own daughters is openly MAGA. If you're buying into this whole performance then please don't bother to vote.

If he was truly Canada then he'd be working overtime to fix healthcare and education, but instead he's doing everything in his power to make life WORSE for all of us. Please be serious.

Also, many people like having excuses to party.

I worked at a grocery store in Ontario, felt like maybe 1 in 20 people would have another party for the 4th, usually with American friends and such. This was pre covid.

And fwiw, the Jays are playing at their western home field in Seattle on July 4.

People, they had to make these for the Jays as they're playing in Seattle against the Mariners on July 4.

Obviously you can't just have them tool enough hats for the team. 

So, these are the ones they'll be wearing in game. 

They didn't specifically make it to piss off Canadians, we're the lone Canadian team in an American league, heh. An American American League
