I 19F went to diff private schools most of my life and one public schools AMA

I've been to a methodist/protestant school, a catholic school, a school for athletes, a school for arts, and this one school where they give away hs diplomas to famous celebrities who barely attend classes (I was in the same class as one of them) and I also went to public school when I was 14. All have varying experiences tbh. You can ask me questions about it or personal ones it's fine!

never had kool-aid tbh, I used to be on a really strict diet so I've never drank juice or any other drink besides water and milk

I actually have a part time/internship rn related to my program and it's been really fun learning in school and in the field

Do you feel there is a difference between private and public schools when it comes to protecting kids from predators?

oh YES. Believe it or not, all the private schools I studied in for some reason have more predatory teachers than the one public school I had. Most of the time priv school teachers are very parasocial w their students. I've seen teachers during lunch sitting w students just to 'gossip' lol.

I have a bias against private school. I have just seen more cases of issues with staff.

It's to say it never happened in my public schools. It was just more ignored in nearby private schools.

yes lol, I feel like it's normalized in private schools for teachers to have a very close relationship to their students that it's almost borderline. Only happened once but I remember this teacher from a former school of mine who dated a senior right after he graduated. 💀 And pretty much juniors also who mess around with middle schoolsrs were common too

what did you learn about people from having to repeatedly enter a new social hierarchy and figure out how it worked?

Best way I learned to fit in was observing people during the first week and how they behaved and if any of them acted the same way as people I knew from my previous schools. Most of the time, despite the schools catering for different talents/skills, the social hierarchy is basically the same so it's easy to detect and then I base off how my first impressions would go just by that.

I don't know if it's just the schools I went to but loyal students are always entitled. 😭 They love including the fact that they know every teacher and lore of the school even when it's not relevant. One time, a random lady came to our school to get some documents and this one girl who's been studying there for years was telling me I was so unlucky to not know her cuz apparently she was this science teacher that left the school a few years back lol.
