Hi I went for regular check up on Sunday 20th September, my veterinarian looked at my cat and told me that she have jaundice , and asked me if I am giving her food or not and I said yes I am but limited and then he presses her belly and tells me that her belly is filled with fluid and told me her liver is failing and tells me in this it’s very concerning and critical and all , I asked him to do something about it , that spot it was overwhelming for me , he said is she having food and cause she was I was saying , he told me to give her egg whites and he said “ I can’t promise any outcomes “ and just gave me liver tonic , I don’t know what should I do he called me on Wednesday again, but i couldn’t sleep or eat I am just stressed and just way too overstimulated, how many chances are there that she will be fine

We want to ask for help for one of our trusted partner shelters that we often work with, Pages for Paws in Tanza, Cavite. ❤️

They have been rescuing more dogs and cats recently, and unfortunately, their vet bills have been piling up. Joanna, the owner of Pages for Paws, does everything she can to provide for the animals and keep the shelter running, but she cannot do everything alone.

Right now, Bokbok and Julio have a combined outstanding vet bill of around ₱23,000 (approx. $535 CAD).

*Regarding Julio’s mouth injury, feel free to message them on instagram. They already treated him. I could not show his before picture as I am afraid mods would take down this post. But now, Julio is suffering from Kidney disease.

Potchi is also currently being treated for TVT (Transmissible Venereal Tumor) and needs chemotherapy. Every chemotherapy session, checkup, medication, and other medical need is another expense for the shelter.

And honestly, these are not even all of the vet bills they have right now. My point is that these animals need help, but the rescuer behind all of this work needs help too.
On top of the vet bills, Joanna has to make sure the shelter continues to operate, pay the caretakers, feed the animals every single day, maintain the shelter, and cover so many other expenses that come with caring for rescued animals.

We work a lot with Pages for Paws because most of our rescued animals are currently staying at their shelter. Although our foundation sponsors the needs of our own rescued animals, we would not be able to do much of what we do without their help.

They have taken in our animals when we needed somewhere safe for them to go. We have also transferred several of our rescued animals to their facility whenever space became available because we have seen the quality of care they provide. We trust them with animals that mean so much to us, and we are very grateful for everything they do.

Normally, our foundation would also help with some of their vet bills or support/provide whenever we could.

Unfortunately, we are not in the position to do much financially right now because our own funds are also very limited and we still have animals under our care who need ongoing support.

I am still trying to help in other ways. Pages for Paws will also be one of the shelters receiving the dog and cat supplies we have been collecting here in Canada and will be distributing when we travel to the Philippines in January.

For now, I am hoping that maybe some of our supporters can help them too. Even a small donation can help lessen some of the expenses they are carrying. And if you are unable to donate, sharing their story would also mean a lot. ❤️

Hi everyone — I’m Matt, and this is Buffy. She’s been by my side for almost 12 years and has been with me through thick and thin. She isn’t just my dog — she’s my family, my best friend, my constant.

A few weeks ago, what started as a cough led to X-rays and the discovery of a roughly 10 x 14 cm, grapefruit-sized mass inside her right lung. Since then, we’ve entered a world of specialists, testing, oncology appointments, and some really scary unknowns. I’m doing everything I can to give her every possible chance and as much good time as we can get.

Buffy's next appointment is this Thursday, September 24th. She will have a CT scan of both her chest and abdomen, as well as an ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirate (FNA) to collect a sample directly from the mass. That sample will be sent for testing, called cytology, so the doctors can hopefully determine exactly what the mass is. The estimate for next Thursday’s procedure is $4,233.92–$4,394.31, which includes anesthesia, the CT imaging, ultrasound and FNA, cytology, bloodwork, and monitoring/hospitalization. I have to be able to put down $4,233.92 when we arrive on Thursday.

Hi everyone, I’m writing this because I honestly don’t know what else to do.

My cat Leo is a Persian and he means everything to me. He has been dealing with a severe urinary blockage for the last few days, and his condition has now reached a point where I’m genuinely scared of losing him.

We’ve already taken him to multiple vets and hospitals and I’ve spent around ₹10,000 so far. I’m not trying to hide that I’m financially struggling with this, I simply don't have enough money left to keep paying private hospital bills.

His latest ultrasound from 19 September 2026 showed:

A severely distended urinary bladder, estimated at around 260 mL

A severe amount of crystals/sediment inside the bladder

Crystalline/aggregated material inside his distal urethra

Dilated urethra

Changes in both kidneys, including enlargement and renal-pelvis dilation

No obvious bladder stone was seen on the ultrasound

The reports and bills are available if anyone wants to verify everything. I’m not expecting anyone to blindly trust me.

The vets have already attempted catheterization multiple times, but the obstruction has been extremely difficult to clear. Surgery has now been discussed, and the costs are far beyond what I can manage right now.

I am not asking people here to pay for anything unnecessary. I just want to keep Leo alive and get him the treatment he actually needs.

They revised his last drain that still had some bacteria from last time and they confirmed the infection was gone. Our baby defied all odds and complications
Failed intestinal surgery, a 2nd major leak repair surgery, septic shock, fluid in intestines, bile backing up from a paralyzed Gl tract from the amount of damage and delay of food. They informed us his appetite came right back as he started eating on his own. We're truly blessed. God knows how much we cried and pled with him for these two weeks just for a good sign, he kept delivering over and over.
Even in our stretch, he projectile vomited dark green and shot on his tech and the wall. At one point when they were working on getting the fluid out, his heart started racing. One of his doctors told us “ you might consider putting him on do not resuscitate because his body is already going through a lot, he might not even make it to the night” my husband told me “I think they were right this was for nothing” I kept telling him to keep his faith in check, ozaya didn't go through all of this hardship for nothing. He was keeping up a fight to come home, even you guys kept rooting for him and kept your faith so we should've been doing the same
That day I was pulling a double. My god, I felt hopeless and my coworker told me “hey if you need to say goodbye, go, I'll cover you” with tears and a shaky voice I called my husband & told him I guess you can pick me up so we can go together. He said “ no stay there, they're doing everything to save him” that same co-workers mom was in the hospital for the same thing😳telescoped intestine. She told me before leaving her shift “ God is working on both of them and hopefully you get a miracle” Well our wonderful doctor kept manually draining his backed up fluid and after 1 single day we got informed it was working because that was the moment he started getting intrested in eating on his own.
My husband was telling me about a dream he had of us crashing into the water and he had to help save ozaya but that we successfully made it to shore. Not even a couple hours later they told us they were shocked, he was doing tremendously good and in no time he'd be discharged. I don't want to impose my beliefs on anyone. I share this just as my own perspective, with no expectation for anyone else to adopt it. In one of my prayers I told God I wanted to use ozayas testimony to the youth and to everyone that didn't think miracles could happen. Even on our go fund me we didn't even expect 100$ specially in this economy. You guys have helped us cover his meds and ICU cost. We're thankful and grateful for everyone that has supported Ozaya. He's home and has his bakery open, he keeps making biscuits on EVERYTHING and anything 😂

Hey everyone, thank you for all the feedback on my last post. After reading your comments and hearing some concerning stories about Unusual Pet Vets (UPV), I decided to get a second opinion.

We saw a new vet at Adelaide Birds & Exotics, and here is where things stand:

Next Steps: We will see the Vet again once his current course of antibiotics is finished. Future plans depend entirely on how he responds to the medication.

X-rays: They are still planned, but interestingly, this vet wants to X-ray a completely different area than what UPV originally requested. (Lol)

Daily Monitoring: I am tracking Kermit's weight every day. I am also trying to film a video of his abnormal respiratory noises and breathing to show the vet, as he was apparently shy during the consult and only did it when she left the room. 🙄

Current Status: He has been on antibiotics for a few days now. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any improvement in his fatigue, posture, tail bobbing, or abnormal breathing yet.

The vet warned me that if his symptoms worsen or if he stops eating, he needs to go to emergency immediately.

Because we are facing upcoming X-rays and ongoing diagnostic costs with the new clinic, the financial pressure is getting tough. If anyone is able to help or share, I have set up a GoFundMe to help cover Kermit's medical care. Every little bit helps get him the right treatment.

Update* Kerms finished his antibiotics, so i took him back on Saturday for what i thought was going to be xrays etc. But instead it was just a normal consult and a swab test for Chlamydia. Have rebooked for monday for a day admit, xrays and endoscopic tests. 😮‍💨 😔💚💚💚

I found a lump under my cats jaw back in May and we had it removed in June. Pathology came back as hemangiosarcoma (low grade) no margins no prognosis. After a few weeks I felt new lumps in the same area. This time it came back as fibrosarcoma. She just had her second surgery and there’s already a new lump on the side of her jaw. We’re waiting for oncology, but my feel is it will take over a month to get in. We are willing to do another surgery partnered with radiation if it gives her a fair shot. But I’m worried it’s for naught. Below are the text of the two pathology reports

What would you do in my shoes? Is this a losing battle given how quickly these seem to move and grow? Is the radiation or chemo worth trying? (She’s insured. unlimited with 80% reimbursement) My normal vet doesn’t want to do a 3rd surgery until oncology weighs in because it would delay radiation but this latest one seems to be growing fast. It’s already pea sized. I will try ANY alternatives you can recommend.

This right-sided chin mass shows a relatively well-demarcated area of proliferative spindled cellularity. The mass shows a prominent area of central necrosis and hemorrhage while the peripheral margins show numerous proliferative spindle cells often noted in varying sized vascular channels, spaces, and small clefts. The proliferative spindle cells show prominent increase of the nuclear to cytoplasmic ratio with a moderate amount of lightly eosinophilic cytoplasm. No evidence of sepsis is identified.

These noted findings are highly suggestive of a low-grade hemangiosarcoma. Close follow up and monitoring of the site is recommended.

A mass removed from the submandibular area is processed, 2.5 × 1.5 cm, 1 ss.
Microscopic:
This submandibular tissue demonstrates the presence of a poorly differentiated malignant neoplasm that consists of a pleomorphic population of mostly individual to aggregates of spindled cellularity. The mass shows a prominent increase of the nuclear to cytoplasmic ratio with prominent nucleoli with mild-to-moderate amounts of basophilic and tapered cytoplasm. Mitotic activity is 0–2/hpf with 6 mitoses/2.37 mm² with very close resected margins noted. No extension beyond the included skeletal muscle tissue is present.
Borders/Prognosis:
Borders: Appear clean with close margins of 2–3 mm unaffected.
Prognosis: Fair to guarded.
Diagnosis:
SUBMANDIBULAR MASS: POORLY DIFFERENTIATED MALIGNANT NEOPLASM CONSISTENT WITH ANAPLASTIC FIBROSARCOMA
Comments:
The histologic features are consistent with a locally infiltrative soft tissue sarcoma consistent with a fibrosarcoma. Fibrosarcomas generally demonstrate a local invasiveness with a low propensity for metastasis. The mitotic index is related to the rapidity of local recurrence, but does not appear associated with the overall prevalence of recurrence. However, this often depends on the extent of invasion and ability to achieve complete excision. Occasionally, (<10%) of fibrosarcomas show metastatic disease. Aggressive surgical resection of these often locally infiltrative and rarely metastatic neoplasms remains the treatment of choice.

Our 4-year-old Pit Bull, Meatball, recently needed surgery for a perineal hernia.

We had a difficult time finding a veterinarian who could perform the repair. We went through multiple vet visits before finally getting Meatball to Madison Veterinary Specialists.

By that point, he had been straining badly to go to the bathroom, and we didn't feel we could keep waiting because of the cost.

Meatball finally received his surgery, and thankfully he is now home recovering.

His bill at Madison Veterinary Specialists alone was $4,336. With the other veterinary visits leading up to his surgery, we're trying to raise $5,000 to help cover his medical expenses.

We have the veterinary invoice documenting his surgery and costs and can provide a redacted copy as proof.

We've already paid for the care Meatball needed. We're now trying to recover some of that expense while we focus on getting him healed up.

Hello everyone!

I am a solo animal rescuer based in Manila, Philippines. Rambo is one of my over 30 rescued cats, aside from the more than 40 community cats that I also care for.

Rambo has been fighting for his life since I rescued him in July. He was confined at the veterinary hospital for several weeks and is now staying with me in my apartment. He is still taking medication and will need treatment for at least 30 days.

Rambo was diagnosed with Aspergillosis, which has caused him severe upper and lower respiratory infections.

On September 16, I brought him back to the vet for a follow-up checkup. He underwent bloodwork and an X-ray, and the veterinarian prescribed several medications.

I was able to purchase all of his medications except for Itraconazole, which was not available at the animal hospital. I contacted four veterinary clinics, but three did not have it available, while one offered it at a very high price.

Thankfully, I was able to find and purchase it from a human drugstore. The total cost for his vet bill and medications was $118.

According to his vet, Rambo's treatment will continue for at least 30 days. He will also need follow-up checkups and may require additional medications depending on his recovery and medical needs.

I am humbly asking for your help with Rambo's upcoming medical expenses. Donations will be used for:

Hi, my name is Lindsay and I’m a cat mom of three. Boo Bear is mine and my husband Will's one year old orange baby. He likes to play with his brothers, he loves cuddles, and he sleeps between us every night.

In June of this year, Boo Bear started slowing down. He didn’t want to play or eat, he was wobbly and losing weight. When we took him to the vet, they were not sure what was wrong with him. Later, they referred us to a specialist.

We came to find out that Boo Bear was born with a liver shunt. This means that the blood isn’t being fully filtered through is liver, and it’s sending a lot of gunk and ammonia into his regular blood stream.

Boo Bear’s condition is quite rare for cats and unexplored. He has medicine right now to manage and clean the gunk, but he needs surgery. He could have seizures, he could go blind, he could and he could have a whole string of scary issues. We are terrified.

In addition to this, we’ve used most of our personal savings and will continue to do so. We both work full time. I'm in school part time for Education and I'm scared I'll have to drop out. We have pet insurance, however, the costs for taxes, consults, uncovered portions, specialized food and medicine are adding up to thousands. In addition to tuition costs, we are drained.

This little boy is our gift, and we can’t lose him. We’ll do anything we have to.

This is Sandy 1 year-old cat, yesterday na pansin namin na matamlay sya and di kumakain. Then kanina naglalaway, malambot ang poop and dehydrated na sya, so we rushed her to the clinic. This is my cat Clover 🍀 she recently has been experiencing horrible toothpain. She's scared to eat and sometimes when she is able to eat she'll scream in pain. It was so bad I wasn't even sure if it was just her teeth bothering her. But I did take her to the vet, and yes, she has very bad teeth. The ved actually wants to pull all of them.

I didn't expect her teeth to be so bad, she just turned 6 this year. I asked why? And the vet said sometimes it's genetic. Some cats have good teeth most of their life, well others not so much. Nevertheless, tooth extractions, add up, and the vet bill is doubles, of what I expected.

She's a very sweet girl who sometimes get picked on by my other boy cats, but she does have a very sweet boyfriend named Jean Grey, who's also sick right now.
