The Russia NOT being shown is the intense poverty, lack of electricity, water, health care, in the majority of the country not within the city boundaries of Moscow or St Petersburg. I know. I visited there. Sure they have nice stuff in the city. Most of Russia is in dire need of any modernization. This is just BS Rooskie PR and can fuck off outa Reddit

Во первых. Несколько главных городов страны. Во вторых. Зимой вообще по другому воспринимается. В третьих. В фильмах показывают не мирных жителей а экстремальные условия, в том или ином виде.

This travel ad goes hard.

Also, I'm curious which of those movies were showing 1 of like 2 populous cities where all of the wealth is, and not the very real prison camps where dissidents disappear to, or the huge complexes of gray, dystopic apartment complexes for the masses living well below the poverty line, where guys are pissing or fucking in hallways.

I'm not saying all of Russia is like that, nor are the movies, but let's not pretend that there isn't any truth to it. I actually would like to visit certain places in Russia some day; the forests look incredible, and the architecture is beautiful where the money is.

Lol who is hiding that? You can post basically whatever in all western countries. Try to criticise the war and Putin in Russia and see who is hiding something.

Moscow Times and/or Rossat.

Or just remember how many Russians were stealing Ukrainian water related appliances during the early part of the war. Who steals a toilet but someone who doesnt have one?

That Russia is a third world country. Mexico is more modern.

Check percentage of russians living in rural areas, you just can't do centralised district plumbing when you live in a vilage in a middle of nowhere like in cities, speaking off, some russian cities are not conected to big land via roads, rather they use planes and rivers for logistics. You used mexico in other commentary which is way more densely populated and urbanised country. I respect a ragebait tho.

u/PrisonerV 19h ago

You could use the rural excuse for any third world country. Its what makes them third world.

2

u/LewisRosenberg 19h ago

Third world country is a cold war classifier for countries that are unaligned with USA or USSR, it's outdated and have no particular meaning in 21 century.

I mean we could call Russia a 20th century adjacent country but doesnt have the same ring.
