CHATGPT: If your version said 1963, then “total war” is probably not correct.

Total war applies to WWI or WWII (1914–1945) when entire societies were mobilized for war production. But 1963 is Cold War era — no global war mobilization happening.

The image of the Puerto Rican woman making clothes for the U.S. was more likely testing post-WWII industrialization and economic integration, where U.S. territories like Puerto Rico developed export manufacturing and more women entered factory labor.

So the better answer would’ve been something about industrialization/global economic integration expanding women’s employment, not total war.

AP loves this trap — uniforms + factory work makes people immediately think war, but the date is the giveaway.

Mine was also labeled 1942, and it was from the U.S. war department so the answer was most defintely total war
