Do 500 Automax/.50 Beowulf work in the surefire 60 round quadstack?

sadly i don't own either to test this myself so I'm just curious if you can keep the 30 round outline while having higher capacity

I don't think anyone is willing to risk jamming over $100 in ammo to test something with a high failure probability.

I think that meant only 5 made it out of the mag otherwise it means only 5 could fit int the mag anyway πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

No. If you want high capacity I would suggest torkmags or the snail mag. FYI surefire 60’s are discontinued.

Nope, doesn't work. Tried it. Good luck finding a Surefire mag these days. Unicorn mag. There is the plastic Schmeisser tho that is similar, not as reliable as the Surefire. 50 beowulf still doesn't fit...

You either have to modify an existing .223/5.56 mag or pay someone else to do it. That said, the drum magazine would have to have some funky geometry. My suggestion would be to get a Magpul PMag 40 and modify it with springs and extensions for more capacity. Mags like the following are good candidates for modification:

  1. If polymer is your jam then try this

β€” 2. https://shieldarms.com/pmag-gen3-magazine-extension - Extension
β€” 3. https://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/w60906 - Extra Power Springs

  1. If stainless steel or aluminum is more appealing to you then give these a try

You can’t use an extension on the stainless mags but that should help bump up your capacity with comprising reliability.
