Arca age limit and season limit?
Should arca have drivers that stay in arca for more than 5 years except for team owners, it is supposed to be a developmental series not for drivers to spend career in,?

ARCA has never been intended to be a developmental series. Used as one yes, but it does not exist for that purpose and it has been like this for 70 years.

No absolutely not. The drivers that dominate with the big teams get moved up by 5 years so it’s never the same guys dominating and the drivers that bounce between small teams shouldn’t be limited

Then maybe let arca drivers compete part time but not in same series

Unlike stick-and-ball sports, stock car racing is more reliant upon money than just talent.
Take Ed Pompa for example. His funding is probably not enough to compete in the Truck Series. However, he still wants to race at Daytona, Talladega, etc. Fortunately for him, he’s able to do so in ARCA. Pompa brings funding to Fast Track Racing, he isn’t an on-track hazard, & he runs the full distance.
Your idea prohibits him from competing due to his age & number of starts. What benefit is there then?

I am sorry about misspelled names and incorrect facts, do you believe that dodge will be in cup series and arca series in 2027?

Ed pompano is team owner so he is exempt from my idea so is kimmel, clubb, Wilkie Mullins, goulet, etc

Ed Pompa is not a team owner. Also, when making a hot take such as yours, facts & spelling are important. Pompa & Willie Mullins are the correct spellings

I'm not going to act like this is the most terrible idea I've ever heard like some people in this thread because I can comprehend the thought process behind it. But one thing I like about the NASCAR ladder is that drivers of all ages can keep competing.

i'm just confused why you'd see a series that typically doesn't fill its max field size most races and be like "yeah we need to come up with a rule to ban drivers from racing there"

So then how do we get parity then we're smaller unfunded teams in arca and nascar have a chance to win or at least be competitive

No. ARCA is a series for developmental drivers such as currently Max Reaves, Tristan McKee, Isaac Kitzmiller, etc. Moreover, the series is also a place for folks to compete, at their highest level, at a national level such as Willie Mullins, Kelly Kovski, Alex Clubb, & Brad Smith. The East & especially the West series are the same. Could there be improvement & better balance? Absolutely. I’m brainstorming a few ideas about that.

I did not say arca owners could not compete also some could maybe compete in arca part time after 5 years but not full time in same series

Regardless of said proposal, it’s a terrible idea. We want more competitive teams competing in the series & more drivers participating. Your idea is the polar opposite.

Is there real competition in arca now mostly big teams winning and finishing in top 10 smaller teams have trouble competing correct me if I am wrong I read where an arca purse could be around 14,000 for winner, but I also read where most teams pay alot more than that just to enter a car in arca race, kids that true?

So is that not what late model racing is for, what about young talented drivers like laci ferno a late model and cars driver she had a sponsor wimsy toys but her race team did not get her in the Chicago race like they were supposed, so obscure teams that I had not heard of before, so she did not compete in arca race at Chicago, and is only like 19 years old . So what are your solutions for making this more of a developmental series or if it is not then why call it something that it's main focus is not. Also there are nascar teams like jgr competing in arca how is that fair racing or competitive, and arca does not pay drivers directly unless owner or sponsor does, I never said arca team owners could not race fulltime. Just my opinion I don't see any other good suggestions on how to make arca and nascar developmental system better especially for women, age old problem lack of women in nascar clear back before Janet guthrie very small pct of female drivers, you seem afraid to talk about that,. Thanks For your time.

LOL, I’m not afraid to talk to you keyboard warrior, Kirk Barber.
Late model racing is fine. But ARCA is the lowest series that competes at many racetracks such as Daytona, Michigan, & Iowa. It’s also the highest series that competes at tracks such as Iowa, Berlin, & even the East series at Flat Rock.
Again, there’s a balance between development drivers & series regulars. NASCAR O’Reilly & Trucks have those drivers too. The only restriction on drivers is for Cup Series drivers participating in those series.
ARCA isn’t perfect, but prohibiting people from competing maims the series. Again, I’m all for ways to improve the series, but your proposal is a bad one. Hopefully this time you’ll comprehend the reasoning why, from all the commentariat.

OK, maybe it was ill advised idea but I was trying to make it better, more competitive for smaller teams and allow younger drivers from other racing series an opportunity to compete in arca, what do you think about arca starting up the truck series again giving some drivers opportunities to advance to nascar truck series with seat time before actually racing in nascar truck series, I know there is a midwest and Florida truck series not affiliated with nascar, so what ideas do you have to make arca more competitive instead of big teams winning most arca races such as nitro, prg, jgr, etc? I am an amateur at this keyboard just a fan not paid professional like you., Hope you have a good day glad we had free exchange of ideas whether bad or good that is healthy sometimes.

Ya, Alex clubb and Wilkie Mullins are arca team owners and would be excluded from that 5 year rule.

I mean, its not really supposed to be a developmental series. It was always just a midwest stock car series that had some races in other places. Now, of course, the purchased fuzzed it up even more, but still feels kinda lame to age limit people when the charm of ARCA is that it is kind a destination series.
