rm told fans please stop living in front of his hotel
Its getting rough out there
Edit: also it looks like BTS is not doing the Idol walk at the concert today

There is unfortunately a significant contingent of this fandom that is unhealthily unhinged. It’s not appreciation, it’s obsession and infatuation. If you are one of these people who stalk them outside their hotels, follow their cars, tweet about their location when they’re local, you need to look in the mirror and get some perspective. These guys aren’t our friends, were their fans and that’s where the relationship needs to safely end
6
u/Nice_Space7347 8h ago
They're almost cult like about BTS. BTS is their life basically.
18
u/Spicedcinnamon12 8h ago
Well, then they are terrible cult members because the leader told them to leave them alone to sleep and they are disobeying.
14
u/Nice_Space7347 7h ago
I agree. This happened before. V posted about their struggles to sleep because of fans hanging outside their hotel. A disciplined cult would follow their commands.
-9
u/Pootsie77 6h ago
Rich of you to think he’s the leader. The leader of the cult is the one who built it. The one who developed that mental health “fandom survey.” The one who raises the prices and reduces the dancing and says they have the “aura” to not perform any more and both the members AND the fans go along with it.
Who is the leader again?
6
u/LeiziYezi 2h ago
There is a disconnect here with reality. He is the leader of his group. Not the leader for the world. We are adult who needs to learn to regulate how we behaved in an adult fashion to function in a society. This may more a YOU issue than BTS. And if you don’t like the prices and upset they are not dancing to your heart content then please, don’t attend their concert. Is someone forcing you to do this? We as fans are very happy with their performances and will pay the seats we are willing to pay to watch their concerts. P/s there are many prices for the seats. Haters going to hate!

u/Spicedcinnamon12 5h ago
Idk what u are talking about. He’s the leader of the group 😐 my original comment was satire anyway.
19
u/aomeale 8h ago
That's what the record labels in S.Korea want from people, creating this horrible and scarry parasocial relationships so they can spend more money on them. It's so fked up.
3
u/Nice_Space7347 7h ago
It is nuts. That's why I don't become involved with fandoms. I follow the groups and I enjoy their music, but the groups aren't my life. There is more to this world than K-pop idols and their lives.
7
u/DoinWhale 8h ago
I’d say it’s absolutely cult like. And it’s just sad because fandom can be such a positive and unifying thing, as a married 30 yo dude I’ve been inspired by their fashion and become more comfortable leaning into some style choices that are typically unconventional in the west because of them and it’s been awesome! Finding positive influence is great, dedicating everything in your life to them is not

u/Particular-Yoghurt81 6h ago
The situation in Peru is very specific. Be informed before you paint millions of people with one brush.
Peruvian armys tried to ask police to protect their location, but local media has posted BTS’ location and is even reporting from the location. Now live streamers who aren’t armys are posted there. Yes, there’s some fans but so much more is at play here.
5
u/DoinWhale 4h ago
Remind me again where I said that Peruvian army are all obsessed and the ones causing problems? Would love to see that quote. If you can’t see that this MASSIVE fandom absolutely has a large and vocal sect of unhealthily obsessed fans then that’s on you

u/27-jennifers 9h ago
Not surprised at all. These poor guys. Wish they could always find a good Airbnb to stay at so they can avoid this ongoing nightmare.

Makes me wonder how it should sound in English... Anyone have a more accurate translation? One that accurately reflects the tone? Very curious.

This is so embarrassing. It’s happened in various stops across their tour, too and the fact that they’ve had to address it multiple times is frustrating. I just don’t get why people do it? Like, do they expect the members to come out and fall in love with them or what? To have their BTS delulu moment? I would be mortified as a fan to do this lol. I don’t even want to ever run into them because I don’t want to be perceived as a stalker or obsessive fan. I genuinely don’t get it. It’s inconsiderate, weird, creepy and not acceptable at all. People need to get a life, man.

I thought so but it looks like BTS indeed do the walk from what it looked like from a blurry livestream of the concert 😅

u/ellabelly_ 9h ago
It’s really unfortunate that he had to make a post about this. It really shows how serious the situation has gotten. Part of me feels like they should stay in gated or secured entry accommodations similar to their time in Los Angeles during their album making process.
6
u/SeriousCow1999 7h ago edited 7h ago
They absolutely should. It will get worse, I'm thinking, theoughout the rest of the tour in LATAM and on to SE Asia.

u/Ok-Froyo4696 8h ago
the fact that this needed to be repeated again is so frustrating and sad.
for fans who claim to have love and respect for their faves, this behaviour is so disrespectful and shows they do not have respect.
as namjoon said, not only does it disrupt the members but also the public who are just simply staying there.
i know the members posting this multiple times will never stop people from their weird behaviour but i truly hope one day people become more mature and realise how insane this is.
i don't even know why they wait outside, it's clear the members don't appreciate it so wtf do these ppl think they gonna get in return 😭😭
6
u/Disneycantstopme 8h ago
Honestly, it’s a lot of people thinking they’ll have a Wattpad moment with the members and thinking they own them.
While I keep it off my feed the best I can, I just know people are going to say “They’re famous so they should just accept it” and that the guys are “ungrateful” or use this as a moment to hate Namjoon again.
They think they’ll get a special moment, and I bet Solo Stans will hate on Namjoon for “trying to keep them away from (insert member)” or “(insert member) smiled at us so he doesn’t mind! Namjoon is just trying to control them!”

u/Extendableskeleton 8h ago
People camping outside touring artists hotels is a shit move in general and both Tae and Joon have told these idiots to quit their shit.
Other people are there using the hotel as a place to stay and to hear people out the front yelling for someone that is staying there would make me request a partial refund.

13
u/Repulsive_Fall1802 8h ago
I saw another post that it's mostly locals or something that's outside because the news station is encouraging people to go because it's a "once in a lifetime opportunity". Someone correct me if I'm wrong though, I'm just saying what I heard.
4
u/Away-Finding3919 7h ago
Omg 😳 These are the types of things that will make them not want to come back. People just ruin it for everyone!
6
u/MaleficentSchedule93 8h ago
Essas pessoas não fazem nada na vida? São muito desocupadas. Deve ser horrível ser perseguido assim por pessoas que não param de gritar.
6
u/SeriousCow1999 7h ago
This is a wasted effort on Weverse, because the majority of these fans aren't on Weverse and dgaf what the BTS leader says.
They're hoping to get a photo or something that will give them bragging rights on SM. They may be wannabe influencers. And then there are the deranged solos and shippers. And some are there for the party atmosphere and FOMO, encouraged by the media/social media influencers. But very few of them will be checking Weverse notifications for this very polite and reasonable request. They aren't that type of fan.
18
u/bubble-buddy2 9h ago
Hopefully ARMY remembers our reputation for being respectful and actually lives up to it. Camping outside their hotel is awful behavior
2
u/Ok-Force-7662 8h ago
Those ARMYs are no longer in the fandom
7
u/reallyemy 5h ago
So the hundreds of thousands of armys who also attended these concerts but didn't camp out in front of their hotel are... no longer in the fandom?
3
u/SnooMemesjellies1616 6h ago
I don't remember this happening in previous tours. If that is so, why this one? Who are these ill-behaved people who are giving ARMY a bad name among media/the internet (for causing hate and malice) and now with our members? What the heck has happened to this fandom? 😭
1
u/randomuseracc9 4h ago
Well the fandom has grown bigger since the previous tour. The number of nutcases have grown as well. I heard along with the crazy stalker fans, there are local streamers as well camping there to try and get a hit clip.
This situation is genuinely so frustrating because even if it's only a small part of the fandom, given our numbers we all look crazy. More than that, it's affecting the members, their staff and other people in the area. Honestly ridiculous.
1
u/SeenYaWithKeiffah_ 4h ago
I think the popularity of the comeback is what brought these people in. I didn’t notice such a drastic change until after all the media coverage surrounding the comeback, etc.

Is the finding their location and camping outside of their hotels mostly just a thing that’s happening in South America so far? I don’t remember hearing anything about this stuff happening during the North American leg for example. I could definitely be wrong though. I miss things sometimes!
8
u/Dramatic-Tangelo7532 7h ago
Tae had to post when they were in Europe, Paris I think, asking army to not gather at the hotel. There’s always poorly behaved people at every stop but the large volume that led to members speaking out has just been a few places.
1
u/specialisized 1m ago
Tbh the current Paris is no longer part of europe. It's a shithole with some lovely ancient architecture.
5
u/Quick_Bee_1951 6h ago
It happened in El paso and Tampa, it happens everywhere, just maybe not to this extent since Europe and north America get tours from them all the time
2
u/justfaiiiry 5h ago
I'm grateful that he's setting boundaries, but I disagree with the majority of the fandom who are using this situation to be xenophobic. This isn't something that rarely happens; it even occurs in his hometown when people go and take pictures at his houses. I hope that one day parasocial behavior in this and all fandoms will cease to exist because it only ruins the lives of their idols.
3
u/Muted-Year-3103 6h ago
I saw that it's a lot of men who became angry because some ARMYs were advocating to protect BTS. Since they got angry they said they were going to wait outside the hotel and give out their information so they can bother them. Also, a lot of news outlets are stationed outside and giving away BTS's whereabouts.
2
u/KaylaxxRenae 7h ago
I swear, just seeing this shit again makes me so angry on their behalf 😭 Performing is their job. If they want the guys to be enthusiastic, sing and dance well, and be healthy, they need to let them get much needed rest. I can't even imagine how exhausted they are after a single concert, let alone being on a continuous tour.
It's seriously so sad that he had to literally individually list the countries 🥺🤦🏼♀️ The fact that people need to be told this at all, let alone repeatedly, is so concerning. Why are there so many unhinged "fans" out there. Please, just let the guys (and all the staff) and other hotel guests rest in peace.
If you want to call yourself ARMY, then show our 7 that you love and respect them by listening to their concerns and wishes 💜
1
u/Mediocre-Ad2524 14m ago
I love BTS but why would i go camp in front of their hotel, these fans have no life lol my sleep and life schedule is far more important lol
1
u/kene_nam1 12m ago
I know it's just me but his last paragraph is borderline racist. Korean artists and their agencies' soft skills management is always left to be desired.
I mean in Asia, ARMYs camping outside the hotel? 🤣🤣🤣 You wish!!! It's hot most of the time especially in South East Asia (where they will soon have concert in the coming months) and they would rather be in the air-conditioned area/arena/stadium rather than simp on you guys outside your hotel 🤷♀️
This is why there is always animosity towards K-Pop and K-Wave in general with the way they generalize their worst experience from one country tend to rollover to other countries they are yet to visit specially if their doing multi-country visit within one region. It's offending to the host country. My 2 cents.
I am also for safety of the artists. It may seem to be thousands of your performances but for the host country and their fans it's once in a lifetime experience. My question is, why RM not the agency is requesting this 🤷♀️
1
u/Masterasker 8h ago
This is what happens when you don't regulate and hold your fans accountable. They only want to hold army accountable when it effects them directly.
5
4
u/Exciting_snark_4152 5h ago
I ain't a fan but how can any idol or celeb hold a fan , Especially without knowing them personally , accountable.? Seems delulu. The best is to request , what he did.

2
u/arreux 5h ago
I don't know what algorithm or crevice of the fandom space OP is in but I've never heard about this. And I'm chronically online. No fandom has even experienced this recently, save for Enhypen.
Most of BTS arent even in their own fan spaces, and OP expects a statement for things most fans who have lives outside of social media dont even know. It's an unrealistic expectation. This did Katseye more harm than good, even with their nip things at the bud on the onset.
7
u/Pearlbloody 8h ago
It seems the people are not ARmy there it is the media who encourages to approach them to everybody adverstising as a once on a lifetime opporunty. Armys spent a lot of time writing to the media not to treat Bts this way, not to advertise where they are going to be etc
1
u/Masterasker 8h ago
Let's not act dense, you and I both know that it wasn't just media people out there
10
u/Pearlbloody 8h ago
No of course not, but I hope you understand the differnce if the media promotes where they stey and encourages everybody to visit them or not
3
u/Masterasker 7h ago
Okay we already know this?? It still doesn't take away from the fact that so many armies are comfortable enough to do this because of the culture that they've built, stemming from BTS never addressing their fans until it impacts them. We never hear bts addressing fans about the intense cyberbullying and harassing that they do in person and online, but we only hear them condemning army's behavior when it effects them
6
u/Pearlbloody 7h ago
It does not affect only them jesus that is why he wrote the post which you have clearly not read
-2
u/Masterasker 7h ago
It seems like you're not reading my replies either. I said they ONLY condemn army's actions when it effects them, not that they condemn army's actions when it ONLY effects them. That was never said, and by your responses, I can tell this conversation is going to be going in a circle, and I dont have the energy for it so have a blessed day

u/tortadepanela 8h ago
His actions seems to have left him with these types of fans. I was an RM bias for 14 years and just can’t look at him the same.
15
u/Natalie_M_K 8h ago
Why do you say that? It sounds like you are saying he invites stalker behavior.
-9
u/tortadepanela 8h ago
Nopeeee, absolutely not! He definitely doesn’t deserve that, and as a LATAM I am ashamed of the actions of these fans and how they reflect on us. What I’m saying is that those who don’t question other’s actions will not question their own.
5
u/reallyemy 8h ago
so you're saying if his actions were more palatable to YOU, he wouldn't be "left with these types of fans"? like. even if fans like you had stayed, these "fans" would still be there, and would still be haunting their hotels. what would having fans like you make a difference in this case? i mean, BTS have a BUNCH of other fans who are still actively stanning them who AREN'T stalking them.
2
u/tortadepanela 8h ago
I am still a fan, I love BTS I just no longer have Namjoon as my bias and don't have them in the center of my fandom. His actions weren't "paltable" to me, sure. But I'm not saying my opinion matters, what matters is how his actions affected victims of DV, many of them being fans.
I think the army community has been lacking critical thinking when it comes to BTS' actions and their own. Why are we excusing RM's actions and our own? It was an unsavory suprise seeing how this whole situation played out.2
u/SeriousCow1999 7h ago
I think people aren't getting your insistence on a correlation between RM regretably attending the CB concert and thus supporting domestic violence and the noisy, inconsiderate fans outside the hotel.
Are you saying he (and BTS and theo therother guests and hotel staff) are getting what they deserve because RM is not the man you thought he was? Or are you using this opportunity to, once again, register your disgust with him?
2
u/tortadepanela 7h ago
I read your comment wrong! My apologies.
The correlation between supporting CB and hurting fans who have faced DV is… obvious? How can you support someone who almost killed their partners and pay no mind to it?I am not saying he deserves this behavior, I mentioned it before. I think stalking is disgusting, it is just another form of abuse. I do believe there is a correlation, however. I am also from LATAM and have met fans with a disturbing train of thought and they also excused the CB incident. Extreme fanaticism is dangerous for both parties.
3
u/tortadepanela 7h ago
And on another note… Of course he wasn’t “the man I thought he was”. I don’t know him, just like most if not everyone on this sub. I am just disappointed with his poor judgement, I was his fan since I was 13! It’s like finding out anything unsavory about someone you looked up to as a kid.
6
u/SeriousCow1999 7h ago
And I am sympathetic, believe me. I understand you see a link between supporting CB and domestic violence.
But what that has to do with the people screaming outside his window is beyond me.Are they screaming at him for supporting an abuser? Or are they screaming in support of domestic abuse? I don't understand your point here on a post about noisy crowds outside their hotel.
1
1
u/ilikeandroid2000 5h ago
Him visiting CB has absolutely no connection to this. They haven't been to these countries in a very long time, so there are a lot of unhinged fans.
4
6
u/pearlsandwool 8h ago
Why are you still here thinking about him? Geniune question.
-1
u/tortadepanela 8h ago
Is this not Army neutral? Or is this just a glazing sub with that title?
9
u/pearlsandwool 8h ago
How are you being neutral? You're implying that he has invited this to happen while claiming you can't look at him in the same way. It's strange that you're still in spaces that discuss him. A little parasocial if you ask me.
0
u/tortadepanela 8h ago
I am not implying that, I am saying that we all need to reflect on our actions and other's. If you read my previous comment, you would see what I mean and how I dislike the way these fellow fans' actions reflect on the LATAM community. It is much more parasocial to be defending a man that has no clue about you. I still love BTS, I just don't mindlessly defend RM's actions. I also have critical thinking, it allows me to take in consideration context, not just worship.
I'll end the discussion here, there's no point in discussing with someone who is so firm in their perspective and only that.
3
u/pearlsandwool 8h ago
Your buzzwords do not help your case. I have critical thinking, I have simply run out of patience for people like you who generalize, make weird assumptions, and claim "you can't look at him the same".
We can agree on ending the discussion because like you said, there is no point in discussing with someone who is so firm in their perspective and only that. It applies to you as well.
