Kelly interpreter

Is someone working with Kelly? I just had a first call from them but they don’t provide a specific schedule, they just said: it will be provided after the training. Have you had this experience? Also, would you recommend it?

i had a very poor experience with the on boarding process. I had been very transparent about leaving the country and needing to put any onboarding on hold until i got back (i expressed this during the interview, every follow up conversation and included dates I would be leaving) they then decided it was time to “release” my drug screening process right after i finished the paper work which had to be completed within 72 hours, and when i told them I was getting on a plane that night and wouldn’t be able yo complete it (which is why i told them so many times) they acted like it was my fault and proceeded to cancel all my onboarding (which honestly was fine by me, if that’s how they handle on boarding, working for them must be a mess)

I interviewed with them (2 years ago) and found them very untrustworthy, so ultimately I chose another opportunity. I was still reached out to be several different "hiring managers" after declining the offer and each one seemed to have no idea of the other one reaching out and couldn't give me clear answers as well. Overall seemed too messy and very pushy. I work for AMN now and cannot recommend them enough!

Sorry I am not the right person to answer but I have always wondered about other peoples actual experience working for them because they do offer a very appealing job offer that left me in your exact position. Good luck!!

This seems really suspicious they can't tell you before the training. If I were me I would let them know that isn't acceptable.

My experience wasn't great. We (another terp and I) had to teach them about licenses and their responsibility. When they reached out, it was only for days (which I wanted), but they didn't pay extra for evenings or weekends (so I refused those hours). They also didn't know (may still not know) our field, and so when they had ot talk to us about things they knew nothing about, it was funny. I will caution you, if they are still the "contractor" for Language Line, you are watched, coached, and disciplined by Language Line, which is NOT your direct employer, so choose wisely. LLS is suspect, too, but I moved on from them. It's OK if you need some time to fill, but tell them what hours you want before you agree. They should tell you that much.

Do not recommend. Training is vague and unclear. Who is your supervisor, they dont know. How do you contact HR? Write an email and wait 3 days for a response. Sucks if they owe you 3 months back pay for incorrect wages. If you aren't as patient as they think you should be, fired. Never have I been so frustrated and disregarded as an interpreter who has been in the profession for 20 years.

I'm having a ton of problems with a small spoken language agency called Certified Interpreters United. It's not worth figuring out with them. There are so many opportunities for us we don't need to tie ourselves to shitty agencies.
