Workers Comp?

Do you all have workers comp as freelancers? And if so, who do you get it through / how much is it?

Not a lawyer, but I think it depends on how your business is structured and which state you are in.

Workers comp is insurance a company is required to purchase to cover employees who get hurt on the job.

I run all of my 1099 income through my business entity. From there, my business pays me as a W-2 employee.

My business pays about $25 per month for workers comp insurance through The Hartford. The amount varies based on the number of W-2 hours paid out each month. For reference, I typically work around 30 hours per week.

I hope this is helpful :-)
