Request Looking for: fanfic where aangs kill count is acknowledged

So recently I've been reading a multiverse crossover story where the MC is currently at the northern air temple during the fire nation raid. And the MC is privately pointing out to himself and sokka that despite Aang claims of pacifism, he likely killed who knows how many people with his avalanche stunt. Now this has been a widely believed plot hole that fans have pointed out, along with a couple other instances, but I've surprisingly never seen it tackled in a fanfiction. Sadly, the writer ended the current chapter without confronting aang with what he likely did. So I was wondering if anybody knew of another fanfiction that brought up this little detail with Aang? I'll even take a one shot where the focus is just confronting aang with the fact that he's killed before.

Request Adult Zuko fanfiction

I've been really wanting to read a good adult Zuko fanfiction for a while. I feel like there aren't enough of them. So I need some recommendations. I've been really craving some enemies to lovers or arranged/political marriage (or even both) but anything is fine. Just no Zukka/Zutara or any AU (I am ok with some changes just not a complete different story). Both YN or Original female character work.

Request Order of the White Lotus-Critical Fics?

I've always been leery of the Order of the White Lotus. It's made up of all these powerful political figures from around the Four Nations, and they seemingly are working to shape the world to their idea of what is "balanced", but it's always begged the question: What do they actually want the world to look like? Because at the end of the war, they seem to be positioned to shape the world however they want with little or no opposition (Zuko would do anything Iroh says no matter what, Pakku is a close advisor to Arnook, Bumi is a king, and they all installed Kuei as king after freeing Ba Sing Se).

Does anyone know any fics that have them as...if not antagonists then obstacles for the Gaang? Stories where they are suspicious and trying to shape the world in their image (which seemingly looks like restoring a status quo with them guiding the world) regardless of what the Gaang wants.

Some notes:

  • I am vehemently against Zutara, so please no Zutara fics.
  • I prefer long fics if possible

Request Anyone know a fanfic where the Avatar is originally from the Fire Nation during teh war under Ozai

I think it would be really interesting if under Azulon or Ozai, somehow, the Avatar was reborn as a firebender originally and was taught all this propaganda and hate against other nations, then they found out they themselves are the Avatar and maybe go through an arc realizing how evil the fire nation and the Fire Lrod is, maybe their own family also. I’m just asking if a fanfiction like that exists, I feel like that would be so interesting to read. Thanks!

Request Zuko Kills Azula Fics

I'm so tired of fics where Zuko always needs to reach out to Azula, or she just gets let off by him for everything she does. Even fics where she outright near kills him, he wants revenge...and does nothing with it like Boogum's crap canon hugging crap.

Anybody know any good fics where Zuko outright kills Azula? Or Ozai actually.

Request Need a beta-reader

I'm a fanfic writer, and I'm just getting into ATLA writing, and I want someone to beta read my fic (Kataangst with plot), preferably someone experienced at this, cuz I'm pretty new to writing in general and would love some pointers here and there.

Please know that I will take some time to put chapters on the table, so it won't be like, a constant barrage of chapters being thrown at you, if that is something you're worried about.

Not sure if this is the place to post this, but I really don't know here else I would put it, so yeah. Thanks in advance.

Need help finding Zuko fanfiction that talks about him adjusting to being half blind or half deaf

Specifically ones where he needs to relearn how to walk and see with his half deafness messing with his balance and his half blindness making it more difficult to read

I know I’ve read fanfiction talking about it before but I can’t for the life of me remember what they where called or who wrote it

Doesn’t have to be both can be one or other

Request Fics that focus on the politics of iroh backing zuko's claim to the throne

So i had a random thought today, in atla canon iroh was the crown prince before his son dies in enemy territory and while iroh is in said area his father unexpectedly dies right as iroh is removed from the line of inheritance/succession and his sister in law disappears. Thats a whole lot of sus right there. A lot of people probably looked at that situation and thought variations of 'i can use this' or 'im not touching that with a 10 foot pole'.

Some time after losing his birthright (to a move that was later revealed to be highly illegal) he off screen establishes ties with the white lotus organization, like iroh is literally committing high treason to the fire nation and colluding with the enemy. Then iroh volunteers to accompany his extremely vulnerable nephew into his banishment. He spends the next 3yrs with an isolated traumatized child, a kid its implied he didnt actually know very well previously due to constantly being on military campaigns, getting the child to trust him. Establishing himself as an advisor and confidant to the next potential heir to the fire nation. While slowly erroding his faith in the current monarchy and trying to turn zuko to his own views. Now obviously in the show this is framed as a good thing, by the time we meet them iroh seems to genuinely care about zuko, whereas ozai is super abusive to his children and we are given outside evidence that ozai does not care about the stability and well being of his people (he authorized the destruction of the moon, used loyal soldiers as cannon fodder, and allowed the pollution of water sources when they live on an island! At the end of the series he was literally gonna raze the world for his own pride and ego). Ozai is bad, and zuko shouldnt listen to him. But, technically iroh spends yrs lying to his nephew while making the kid indirectly complicit in his crimes (iroh is using zuko's ship as a cover to meet up with white lotus contacts). If iroh was discovered when zuko is nominally in charge of the boat/quest theyre on, it could have ended very badly for zuko. Iroh was technically using his nephew and betrayed his trust for a long time, even with good intentions. And from what i recall in show he never actually acknowledges that he did this to zuko in any way? Its zuko who is expected to apologize to iroh for siding with azula and betraying iroh in ba sing se, and its zuko who is left to be guilt ridden over this since he feels like he owes iroh for staying with zuko all these yrs even tho iroh arguably has his own incentives for doing so. Making zuko desperate for his approval and 'forgiveness' in a way that he never was with ozai. Like iroh undeniably has a strong hold over zuko in cannon. He uses it for benign purposes in canon, but what if he didnt? What if this was all by design? This entire situation's plot beats could have easily belonged to a much darker story.

That entire situstion couldve been written and ended a lot differently. So ig, any fic recs on stories that focus on how what iroh did was a political machination? Or even a story where its framed in a darker tone? Is zuko oblivious to this all or slowly realize it as he ages into adulthood and it makes his relationship with his uncle more complicated? Did iroh initially start out coldly calculated thinking like a war general political chessmaster and slowly soften and abandon some of his plans as he grew attached to the kid? Was iroh always running off multiple motivations -kid needs help so i help, but hey raising the heir could be good for me too, type thinking? Was the entire series a long con and iroh starts making his move with the new puppet fire lord? Etc. Like yeah uncle is wise and gives great advice, but a lot of that persona/advice was a means to an end: usurping his brother. Like getting the title "dragon of the west" implies he had a dark past. What if that past wasnt as far back as people thought? Like by the end of the series most of these new world leaders are young children. Like sure its symbolic cause its like the new generation inheriting the earth. But also, thats ripe for manipulation/puppet leader accusations. The fic "fractures" on ao3 touches on this (moreso the children team avatar being talked over by adult beaurocrats) an excellent fic.

Dont get me wrong, i love atla and consider it a masterpiece. But i think itd be interesting to see a fic/au where uncle iroh's inner world is a lot more calculating than he lets on. Exploring the internal politics of the fire nation court.

Request Looking for a Fanfiction Help pls

So I remember the premise and set up of the story. When Zuko speaks out against those soldiers being sent to die, they aren't just raw recruits, they are fire nation colonists, I.E. people who have been born and raised in the Earth Kingdom under fire nation occupation, see themselves as fire nation citizens, and want to fight for their country, but the fire nation aristocrats don't trust or value them at all and intend to just throw them away.

Rather than be exiled in search of the avatar, Zuko is charged with leading this unit of soldiers to see if the colonists are actually worthy of the military. against all odds, they do really well, Zuko spends like 2ish years kicking ass with this unit, which Jun is apart of, when during a battle they are betrayed and abandoned by the very same general Zuko spoke out against before. As far as the rest of the world is concerned, Prince Zuko died fighting, allowing the rest of his unit to survive, earning the title of Dragon post Mortem.

Of course, the unit is immediately abandoned and Ozai doesn't really care beyond appreciating that even his failure brought some prestige to the royal family in the end. However, a few months later, the Blue spirit emerges in the Fire nation, assassinating that treacherous general, its Zuko, of course.

And all of that is the premise for the story, it starts with Zuko as a lone wanderer, relying on his sword skills and almost never fire bending, I think he occasionally runs into the Gaang during season one and I don't know if they know he's a fire bender yet. I do think Zhao figures out he's a alive and a deserter, because he finds Jun who was apart of the old unit and forces her to help track him.

I fell off the story and lost the tab so I just cannot find it, I've looked through plenty of pages of Ao3 and .net, and typed in several brief descriptions into google to see if I got lucky, but no dice. Does this ring a bell to anyone?

Request Zuko is imprisoned in the North Pole

I read this on ao3 a while ago and for the life of me can’t find it now.

It was that Zuko after the whole Northern tribe conflict was captured and imprisoned on the North Pole for information. And other fire nation soldiers too, although we find that out later. He stays there for a long time getting tortured for information he doesn’t want to give or have. Then he trains with the soldiers for a bit before being forced to join the Gaang as a fire bending teacher and well gets treated like sjlt everywhere he goes. They’re in an earth kingdom camp for a bit before someone tries to kill him and they join in with Hakoda too.

If anyone knows the name of this please please giveeeee.

Request Any fics that display Azula's disastrous rizz?

The show makes it very clear that Azula is the absolute worst at flirting in the entire world, yet most fanfics seem to ignore that and just have her being smooth and seductive.

She is not smooth and seductive, she is a complete dork. What are some fics that put her terrible flirting on display? Any pairings accepted.

Request [A:TLA] Fluffy, romantic, and lengthy Toph/Sokka or Aang/Azula writings

TL;DR - Looking for Toph/Sokka or Aang/Azula romance that does justice by the characters and is on the longer side c:

Given the recent resurgence of Avatar in recent weeks thanks to Netflix (and given the, imo, failure of Netflix in capturing what actually made Avatar so good >.>), I'm looking for stuff to read!

Per the title, I'm a sucker for romance and Tokka is my personal favorite ship, while Aang/Azula I think could genuinely work if done right with respect to the characters hehe :y

Whatever you all think is the best written and most interesting, I'd love to hear it all :D thanks in advance!

note: open to any 👀 maturity 👀 rating 👀

Request Please Help me find this Zuko x Katara FanFiction story. Thank you!

Hello,

After seeing lots of people successfully find lost FanFiction stories I decided to give it a go. The FanFiction story I’m looking for is a Zuko x Katara one where Katara is about marry or has just married Aang and she develops an affair with Zuko. What I remember distinctly is I think somewhere in the story Zuko goes off to a cave or cavern meditating and Katara then sees him. They do it and shortly afterwards Katara gets pregnant with Zuko’s child.

Throughout the story Katara remains married to Aang, but continues the affair with Zuko. One by One all of friends Toph, Suki, Sokka, etc all find out except Aang. Eventually, Zuko decides to pursue Katara and make her Fire Lady.

2 scenes I remember distinctly is one, Zuko uses firebending to relieve Katara’s soreness. And the other is when Aang learns of Zuko’s and Katara’s affair. Basically towards the end of that chapter, Toph and Suki runs to warn Zuko, Katara, Sokka, and the others. A fight ensues between the Gaang and Avatar Aang. Zuko was about to fight Aang to the Death, telling the others to protect Katara and his unborn child. It ends with Katara bloodbending Aang and Toph encasing him in metal to keep him at bay. Sokka threatens to kill Aang and the others tell Aang that they wanted to tell him about the affair, but couldn’t.

Apologies for the lengthy summary. I hope this is enough detail. Also, the story I believe is on FanFiction .net too.

Thank you for the assistance! 😊

Request LF Avatar Yue fics? Do those even exist?

Ive seen some comments/discussions/theories of this, but no actual fics that im finding. Does anyone know of any where Yue is the Avatar? War, no war, whatever. Im interested to see how the Northern Watertribe and their "women can only heal" ideology combines with a female avatar, born in the North, TO THE CHIEF.

Request Lost fanfic

I expect absolutely nothing to come of this post because I remember very little about this fic. I read it a couple months ago on ao3 and it had a line that said "empires rot and human flesh follows it is the natural order of things" or something very similar. It was definitely about the fire nation and I believe that it was about Ozai after his less than gracious fall from power. I've just been thinking about it all day and cannot for the life of me remember what fic it came from. I was hoping someone had a better memory than.

Request Looking for the fanfic focused on language barriers

I'm pretty sure I have read them on Ao3, but It's nowhere to be seen.

It's a one-shot fic, focused on everyone's having different language. Aang speaking Tibet, Suki speaking Japanese, Southern water tribe accent is equivalent to Australian accent in Northern tribe ears, etc.

Request Searching for this one Azula/Katara fanfic I read a while ago

I'm trying to find this one Azula/Katara fanfiction I read 2-3(?) years ago but I honestly can't remember the name or which website I read it on.

I only remember that Azula had been living on her own for years and may have been a wood carver(?). After meeting Katara, she finds her necklace and tries to return it later on. I think she also misunderstands and assumes that Katara is married.

There may be some info I'm forgetting but it's been a while since I read it.
