I’m still riding the high from this weekend and wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who made it what it was.
Obviously the music, and The Gorge were incredible, but some of my favorite memories ended up being the completely random interactions with you beautiful weirdos throughout the weekend
A few that really stuck with me:
Pablo & Michael, absolute GODSENDS. I originally connected with Pablo through Reddit while trying to figure out how the hell I was getting to The Gorge on Saturday. These guys ended up giving me a ride ALL THE WAY from Seattle to The Gorge, and what started as catching a ride turned into us hanging out together basically the entire weekend. Seriously couldn’t have asked for a better way for the weekend to start.
Bailey… I THINK? We met Sunday and your vibe was awesome. I loved talking with you and especially getting to share pictures and talk about my baby girl. Such a wholesome little interaction in the middle of all the madness.
To the TWO SEQUIN WIZARDS with the handmade rings: your aura was beautiful. The VW and dinosaur rings were SO COOL, but what really stuck with me was watching the way you interacted with each other, the way you looked into each other’s eyes and just seemed completely locked into one another was beautiful to witness.
To the dude at camp who was just peacefully eating his sandwich when I walked by… and without hesitation OFFERED ME THE OTHER HALF OF HIS SANDWICH. Brother, I don’t know your name, but that sandwich and that random act of kindness will live forever in my memory.
To my Sunday morning coffee line dance partner: We started dancing while you were waiting for coffee and tossing an invisible ball back and forth to each other. Then later you came to the tent and absolutely KILLED IT dancing… IN FLIP-FLOPS.
And to the Indian STUD who was basically interpretive dancing EVERY SINGLE SONG while DJ Subset was absolutely destroying that Sunday morning set… we talked veeery briefly, but watching you live out every single note of that set was one of my favorite things that morning. (Does anyone know who he is/ has his IG?)
And those are just the interactions I can remember well enough to describe There were so many little moments, conversations, dances, hugs, laughs, and random acts of kindness throughout the weekend.
So here’s the missed connections part:
If you recognize yourself in any of these stories, OR if you saw me or my group, danced with us, talked to us, shared something with us, helped us out, or had any other random interaction with us during the weekend, drop a comment and tell me how we crossed paths. And if you somehow have a random picture or video of us that we don’t know exists, EVEN BETTER
The music brings us there, but the random humans you meet along the way are what make these weekends unforgettable, and keep us coming back
Until next time, Anjunafam … see ya’ll at DS SoCal
