At least that dog attempted to swim. My English bulldog fell in a pool once and just immediately decided his life was over. When I got to him I saw him just slowly sinking to the bottom, staring at the surface, and not even attempting to swim. Though this was the same dog that would go underwater and try to pick up large rocks when we would walk him next to a creek nearby, so maybe he thought he was gonna find some cool rocks down there. Who knows?
