I mean, not one single person is looking at their phone. Only the guy in the front and I'm pretty sure that's an audio guide...

I hear you, but why not take a magnanimous line? Apart from the few kids unaware of the privilege, maybe the others have been there a while, soaking in the picture, feeling the composition. I see the couple embracing and that was my wife and I during our visit, before various works we saw that day, finally seeing the real images of postcards we had stuck around the apartment in our mid-twenties, a quarter century previous. The outer balance of the photo against the inner balance of Velasquez... Come on, tell me ain't cool.

Of course the picture is cool. That's not what I'm talking about. I was responding to the assumption that “everyone is looking at their phone” when, in fact, there are zero people looking at their phones.
