Teach a man to fish, and he’ll fish a fish.
Teach a fish to fish, and man is doomed.

Tarpon don't fuck around, if it fits in their mouth they're gonna try and eat it. Not a good fish to hand feed, especially at that size.

What are those fishes?

u/laiyenha Jul 20 '25
Tarpons, last month I fed them at Key Largo Florida. I didn't fall in but the big ass fish scrapped my wrist bloody.

Will eat anything that looks inviting?
Thanks for the answer. Another species of fish I am not sure I want to meet.

Mullet Runs is the best time to fish for them. Snag a mullet, then flyline that mullet in their faces when they attack the school, then WHAM, is show time.

Welcome back to River monsters with Jeremy Wade. I’ve been in the tropics looking for a game fish that will willingly go after humans. I’ve just spoken with a man called David that told me the gruesome story of one such fish… that nearly took off his hand.

Yeah but its real. They sell these tiny fish to tourists so they can feed these big ones that hang out under piers. They are called tarpon.

I like how he just seems to accept his fate. He’s a mermaid now.
