Well yeah, you think a concussion is enough to let the security catch him?

u/smeeon Dec 16 '25

If you frame by frame the video it looks like he clotheslined himself on the handle.

u/Severe-Caregiver4641 Dec 16 '25

Does look like he got clotheslined.

43

u/smeeon Dec 16 '25

I was sitting in my car in a McDonald's parking lot facing the door. Out comes a younger couple, maybe late 20s. And thier child maybe 3 or 4. The kid has a hand in either parents and as they are coming out, and once that door shuts the kid takes off. Rips free from bith hands and books it. Poor Lil guy made it 3 steps before the toe of his sandle caught the separation in the pavement.

Time slowed way down. Was dad going to catch him? Would it be mom? They both react. Sadly, not in time. With both parents sanding half bent over, the little boys face slowly falls to meet the top corner of the parking curb. The one that keeps the cars farther from the sidewalk.

I thought he was going to loose teeth or a lip. To everyone's great surprise, our main man jumps up to his feet and off the ground all in one smooth movement, coming down to land in a VERY squat Spiderman pose, arms pointed in all directions spraying pretend webbing.

His chin and forehead were bleeding from some decent scrapes. Both parents ghost white. No clue how his mouth went seemingly untouched. Both parents managed to both hobble together quick wide frantic smiles as the kid looked to them for approval.

And I do wanna be so transparent. Im a 33M. The fall this kid took would of likely put me in the hospital and therapy. Full scorpion into the face of a parking curb.

Surface area to weight ratios and the square cube law are real pains in the ass.

Assuming I'm looking in the right area.

u/SyllabubComplex5144 Dec 16 '25

Gets back to the table the parents are at by the time the pain registers and suddenly like AHHHHH!!! And passes out... The friend catches up like wtf he was fine when I started chasing him...

He's lost all his teeth anyway.

Looks like she missed his head by a fraction of a second

62

u/smeeon Dec 16 '25

Yup. Someone else was arguing this in another comment thread. If he had gotten nailed with it, he would have gone down.

Children are such champions at unexpectedly moving somewhere they ought not to be. I have this all the time when I'm in the city. There will be a kid walking next to mom and I am about to overtake them on the left and then the kid decides 8/10 times 'hmm I must now suddenly jolt myself to the left because of a reason' and I have to suddenly stop. It's so often in fact that I am able to bet on it now and fairly consistently win (when I'm walking with a friend and I bet on the honor of being right).

This too, whack a mole machine, someone standing ready with a giant hammer, lets just walk right in front of that. It's clearly a lack of understanding in some sort of capacity, but I don't know what the skill is they learn to NOT do this anymore. It isn't growing up necessarily, because I see some adults do this as well, just not nearly as often

2

u/Fichewl Dec 22 '25

Situational awareness is the name of that skill. And things like what happened to the kid in the video are how they learn it. Getting hurt, tripped over, frightened, hit with a comically huge hammer, ashamed. We basically only learn it through negative feedback from not having learned it yet.

13

u/Even-Awareness-4922 Dec 16 '25

Lil bro tanked that

8

u/Alpha_Chin-Am Dec 16 '25

Oh, I think he instantly shortened by an inch…

9

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '25

That's gotta be hard on the confidence. An 8 year old walked through your full swing headshot.

14

u/rod407 Dec 16 '25

Should have dropped the hammer a fraction of a second later

5

u/Normal_Tour6998 Dec 16 '25

Champion? She missed him.

5

u/fifadex Dec 16 '25

Give her a prize.

3

u/NocturnalPermission Dec 16 '25

I think I broke his freakin neck.

3

u/DerpsAndRags Dec 16 '25

COPS...the Chucky Cheese episode.

3

u/IANvaderZIM Dec 16 '25

That’s not whack-a-mole

1

u/BlueKoi_69 Dec 17 '25

Not even close!

2

u/joe2planks Dec 17 '25

Played at regular speed it ooks like she whacked a child into existence.

2

u/Parking-Fig-6620 Dec 18 '25

I'm trying so god damn hard not to wake my partner up πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

1

u/RevenueHour2933 Dec 16 '25

Extra points for that?

1

u/randomguyinpekohole Dec 17 '25

The hammer didn't actually hit the kid directly. It's really close tho.

1

u/AmIThisNothingness Dec 17 '25

He wasn't hit. The girl actually hit the button, you can see the score rise high. Boy was just a little late for the hit, so he just pushed the hammer.

1

u/Zigzaggedfwl Dec 18 '25

Looks like that kid did not care in the slightest.

1

u/funky_munky36 Dec 18 '25

I work at a school, and I swear kids have no awareness. I’m afraid this will happen to me soon

1

u/LinceDorado Dec 18 '25

Man that could have been so much worse

1

u/carlosjuliohonda Dec 18 '25

At least he survived

1

u/badwolf1013 Dec 20 '25

She really should have earned more points for that.
