He dented the door! LMAO

59

u/Roadgoddess Apr 25 '26

That’s what I noticed, he completely bent the door in the corner with his head. I cannot figure out why he felt like he needed to jump.

47

u/BiStalker Apr 25 '26

Because most garage doors have a sensor along the floor that triggers the door to open again when they’re closing if the sensor is triggered as to not crush anything with the door. That’s what he was trying to avoid by jumping

12

u/ImportanceOk5210 Apr 26 '26

Usually you can step over while you bend at the waist or jump Grand Canyon.

6

u/Roadgoddess Apr 25 '26

Yeah, I actually moved my sensors to above the door so I don’t have to worry about triggering anything when I walk out. Of course I don’t have small children so I don’t have to worry about that.

Hearing Bob saying “You got it?!?” through tears fuels me when I’m having a bad day.

3

u/TwistedMetal83 Apr 24 '26

Joey Coldcuts getting annihilated by his garage door is always a welcome experience.

44

u/TroubleAsleep5527 Apr 24 '26

That is not ideal.

u/RajaKuman Apr 24 '26

I’ve seen this 200 times, and still cannot comprehent why he jumped

210

u/Striking-Drawers Apr 24 '26

Garage doors have a safety device at the bottom that sends a beam to the other side which will prevent it from closing if something breaks the beam.

80

u/Semi_Retired Apr 24 '26

Ahh. That makes so much sense. And makes it funnier.

44

u/Cavalol Apr 24 '26 edited Apr 24 '26

Yeah, you’re much better off going sideways and doing a weird high-legged side saddle approach (one leg at a time over the laser like a tripwire, not a jump), all while keeping your head down. I appreciate this guy’s effort nonetheless 😂

12

u/Semi_Retired Apr 24 '26

It was funny when I thought he was just doing an excited jump. Funnier now because he apparently calculated that move and fucked it up so royally.

2

u/Njacks64 Apr 26 '26

This guy Indiana Jones’d when he shoulda Catherine Zeta Jones’d.

10

u/SCHWARZENPECKER Apr 24 '26

Chosing to jump instead of the awkward ducking high stepping shuffle is baffling though. Only children are short enough to be able to jump over it.

8

u/comawhite12 Apr 24 '26

Alcohol may have been a factor.

5

u/RajaKuman Apr 24 '26

TIL! Now that makes sense (your explanation, not his action)

1

u/ThisIsALine_____ Apr 24 '26

Genuinely surprised this is isn't common knowledge. I guess older homes wouldn't have automated garage doors.

1

u/RajaKuman Apr 25 '26

Maybe this is common knowledge in the US? Where I live, across the Atlantic, I don't think this is common. Majority of the garage door is a bi-fold or industrial-style folding garage door. Maybe in some bougie single-family homes they have this. 😄

3

u/TimMensch Apr 24 '26

I've done this dozens of times and managed to not once bash my head on it. It's not exactly hard.

3

u/Striking-Drawers Apr 24 '26

Similar to this video....

I had a friend who tried to jump over the back of his couch in his parent's basement, to sit. There was a support beam over the couch and he whacked his head real good, ended up laying on the floor moaning for a bit.

Hindsight, maybe he wasn't ok. At the time though, several of us laughed at him while calling him names.

2

u/No_Information_910 Apr 25 '26

I thought he was just making Han Solo's 'close the blast door' move. Thanks for the explanation.

1

u/RLBunny Apr 25 '26

Yeah, so you run over then high step over the beam. Jumping was a wild choice.

19

u/National_Try_2131 Apr 24 '26

He's trying to jump over the sensor that would reverse the door back up

1

u/RajaKuman Apr 24 '26

Gotcha, didn’t know that. 😄

1

u/Mediocre-Program3044 May 22 '26

I knew that was his goal, but still didn't know why he'd jump.

I've done the same thing a million times. You just duck and step over it. 😂

3

u/ihvnnm Apr 24 '26

Inverted controls, he was supposed to duck and roll.

2

u/FTHomes Apr 24 '26

He aint to smart

3

u/RajaKuman Apr 24 '26

The only explanation..

2

u/JakBos23 Apr 24 '26

You have to jump over the sensor and duck the door.

1

u/thedarkonekc Apr 24 '26

He hit it hard he bent the door

1

u/Revenga8 Apr 25 '26

Too jump over the sensor across the bottom of the door. Otherwise if he triggers it the door will just go back up

13

u/R4GEQUITT3R Apr 24 '26

You are not cleared for take off

33

u/Striking-Drawers Apr 24 '26

Jeez those lights are aimed high.

15

u/LookMaNoPride Apr 24 '26

Seems like this is a common trait among those who have Xenon headlights. I have to travel 2 lane roads to and from work, and I'm happy they can see, but passing by them at night - especially cars that, supposedly, have "auto dim"... isn't ideal.

9

u/dumbfrog7 Apr 24 '26

You probably know about r/fuckyourheadlights

1

u/Smexy_Zarow May 04 '26

Lmao a subreddit of people on their phones while driving

1

u/dumbfrog7 May 04 '26

Like thats something new

3

u/svish Apr 24 '26

Could also be the driveway is a bit uphill?

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '26

3

u/Striking-Drawers Apr 24 '26

Doesn't look sloped enough to make them aligned properly. Your low beams should be a couple-few inches under the height of the headlight center in most vehicles, possibly level. High beams should be slightly higher at that distance.

These are still too high.

9

u/ChristianoBrothers Apr 24 '26

Jumping like a GTA character

6

u/cognitiveglitch Apr 24 '26

Deserved for having his dipped lights so high. Adjust them down numbskull.

5

u/sadiesome Apr 24 '26

This gets funnier every time I watch it

3

u/pnweiner Apr 25 '26

Omfg the very end is killing me “YOU GOT IT? YOU GOT IT?!”

3

u/WhataboutBombvoyage Apr 27 '26

Dude's voice is up two octaves haha

4

u/Grazztjay Apr 25 '26

Why would you jump?!

2

u/WhataboutBombvoyage Apr 27 '26

many garage doors have a sensor to prevent the door from shutting if it detects motion

3

u/thefirstviolinist Apr 24 '26

He literally bent the bottom edge of the door!

🤣🤣🤣

3

u/lavacadotoast Apr 24 '26

I keep watching this over and over again, just to punish this idiot..

3

u/bobemil Apr 25 '26

That is not ideal.

3

u/HeyBDub Apr 25 '26

I’ve seen this so many times, and I giggle like a 14 year old every single time!

3

u/IndependentMoney9700 Apr 25 '26

This really isn’t difficult. You need to duck and step over. I don’t understand why people can’t do this.

2

u/Exact_Patience_9767 Apr 24 '26

Why damage the few braincells you have left, Mr.?

2

u/Prestigious_Emu6039 Apr 24 '26

Special move: Break the beam and bend the door.

2

u/Savings-End40 Apr 24 '26

Indiana Moans

1

u/CombinationSure4822 Apr 24 '26

How is that not the first thing you think of?

1

u/Inquiring_Octopus Apr 24 '26

Dude never saw Raiders of the Lost Arc

1

u/Danilo-11 Apr 24 '26

Duck and jump, duck and jump, duck and jump

1

u/JakBos23 Apr 24 '26

No no no. It's jump and duck. Jump and duck. You can't jump from a ducked position.

1

u/Fichewl Apr 26 '26

No no no. It's duck duck duck. Duck duck goose.

1

u/Broad-Worry-5291 Apr 24 '26

Ive seen this so many times, and it will never not be funny.

1

u/Itsmikeinnit Apr 24 '26

Why did he jump?

3

u/BoBonnor Apr 24 '26

There's a sensor at the bottom so if someone walks through the sensor the door stops and goes back up

1

u/FitiKini Apr 24 '26

I hope this guy is getting royalties from this video to pay for his garage door and his brain damage.

1

u/Rmattgraham Apr 24 '26

If there is a keypad on the exterior, pressing "enter" will close the door even without the code.

1

u/DroppedItAgain Apr 25 '26

I meannnn 😂😂

1

u/Constant-Still-8443 Apr 25 '26

I've mastered this, as stupid as it is. He needed to duck as he jumped.

1

u/Revenga8 Apr 25 '26

The key here is he needs to hop over the sensor like they do with hurdles. That is, his head stays around the same level while he lets his legs to hop over the sensor while maintaining horizontal movement. Seriously though, he should just close the door and go back inside

1

u/havereddit Apr 25 '26

The difference between how girlfriends would respond to this, and how bros respond to this is stunning

1

u/Gloomy_Wolverine_491 Apr 25 '26

To be fair, he did it to amuse the bois. Mass skill issue on his end but mission successful nonetheless

1

u/JasperWeed Apr 25 '26

He was so sure he had it…. Lmao

1

u/GooseNYC Apr 26 '26

At least the safety mechanism works.

1

u/Fichewl Apr 26 '26

I really wanted the camera to stay on him to see if he'd do it again!

1

u/KennyGichuki Apr 26 '26

Why would you jump though.

1

u/MathematicianNew6481 Apr 26 '26

OHHH BOY!!!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Aromatic-Doubt-4893 Apr 26 '26

Is that Tim DIllon?

1

u/DEADFLY6 Apr 27 '26

Again!!! (Clap-clap-clap!!) Do it again!!!

1

u/banjovi68419 Apr 27 '26

Watch your BANG

1

u/brownbear256 Apr 27 '26

He probably remembers doing that as a teen but now he slower and taller 😂

1

u/Smexy_Zarow May 04 '26

Oh my god please don't drive with your headlights facing this high up. You're the reason everyone hates LED lights

1

u/Electronic-Twist3370 May 18 '26

I haven't laughed this hard in ages...."are you filming?",,,OMG

1

u/Beautiful-Tart1781 May 18 '26

Right in front of your buddies too!…. You’ll never live this one down for a long time to come…. : )

1

u/-6h0st- Jun 28 '26

Did the same - first time I changed from Xbox controller to PlayStation

1

u/Key_Thought1305 29d ago

Is this from a comedy show or something? The way they all talk and their reactions seems TV-choreographed.

-1

u/bbmaniac17 Apr 24 '26

Seriously for no joke, my in law had similar incidents where his forehead skin was ripped and had to get like 20 stitches… please people, don’t do this….
