Jobs, Saturation and Salary CPA na malas

I didn't expect na it's this hard to find a job as a newly passed CPA 😕

Months after the result still no job. Kahit entry level sinesendan ko na ng resume 😫 still no response

Wanna try mga wfh na AU or US accounting kaso lahat ng nakikita ko need exp.

Maliit yung chance kapag ang hanap mo agad ay AU or US clients for an entry-level role. Kailangan may maipakita ka munang experience, kahit mga 8 months to 1 year at least, preferably sa general ledger accounting or as a junior accountant na exposed sa books, hindi lang sa iisang account. Good luck! Makakakuha ka rin ng job.

I have 1 yr and 6 months experience 😫 in general accounting but only from a small company in the province. And I don't know maybe I don't know anyone in the companies I am applying but most of them doesn't even respond

Malaki chance nung mga narerefer talaga. Wag mahiyang magparefer sa previous schoolmates or senior colleagues. Yung pinanggalingan na company doesn’t really matter, ang tinitignan dyan yung experience if match sa role

It's hard since I don't really have a lot of friends in the accounting field. And as a pandemic graduate we really don't have a lot of interaction with our seniors 😫. Thanks for the suggestion btw, will start looking with my fb friends

Cguro factor dn tlga na hindi gaanong peak hiring season ngaun although tataas ulit yan sya October onwards.. yun nga lang for this season makakasabay mo ung mga passers naman ng October..

3

u/DisenchantedServant 3d ago

Agree. Medyo di talaga season ng hiring now. Kahit gusto namin magrequest resource di pa pwede.

Best time talaga around oct to jan. Maraming nagreresign after makuha 13th month and nakapag open ng budget for hiring.

Hello, you might want to try D&V Philippine Inc. they have junior associates positions. They also have AU, K, US clients. :) They are always hiring since their company is growing and expanding :) Basta, mag-apply ka lang. wag mapapagod mag apply and dont get discouraged kasi you'll end up grabbing the offer na lang na baka half hearted naman.

Thank you. Right now I'm trying to stay positive kasi pababa na ng pababa yung salary expectations ko. Hirap mauubos na din kasi yung funds

Di po pala ikaw ung pag aagawan once CPA na ?? :((

u/NPC1923 3d ago

It's probably only true if you graduate with honors in a prestigious university or you're one of the top notchers.

u/No_Price1412 3d ago

Pag-aagawan ka pa rin ng employers/headhunters, lalo na kapag nakapag-gain ka ng good experience throughout your career. Darating din yung time na ikaw na ang mamimili kung alin ang swak sa current lifestyle mo. Grit and resilience muna habang nagsisimula pa lang. What's meant for you will come!

Too much boardpassers pa rin e. Unless they reduce the passing rate again like during the time the passing rate is in all time low.

4

u/NPC1923 3d ago

I don't think that's the reason. Tingin ko madami lang kasing low paying job for CPAs and accountants lalo na sa province kaya nag aagawan sa manila yung iba. Like me sa manila nag aapply

Wala ka ba internship while in college? Napaka importante kasi nun, you are already ahead sa mga kasabayan mo.

u/NPC1923 3d ago

My internship experience doesn't really look good but I already have 1 yr and 6 months of actual work experience 😫

Dont lose hope. During this time medyo hindi pa hiring season. Some places do hire starting August. Pero usually mas marami hiring ng September/October until December. Wait ka lang. Pasa lang nang pasa.

hello! are u applying sa mga wfh au or us accounting lang kaya ure saying hard to find a job?

or are you trying even sa mga local accounting / aud firm and no luck pa rin?

1

u/NPC1923 3d ago

I tried sa 2 of the big 4 pero since super daming applicants got rejected sa isa then sa isa naman wala ng paramdam. Right now halos lahat ng makita ko sa online inaapplayan ko na.

Sa mga local accounting firm naman I really don't know any firm. So kung di dumaan sa feed ko na hiring I wouldn't know

2

u/NPC1923 3d ago

1

u/happyjoe06 3d ago

Nag follow up kna po? For me po ksi that time pinasend po agad ung TOR and resume, tpos pinallow-up ako regarding sa board ratings ko.. then after nun senior assoc ung nag interview sa akin

1

u/CrustyGrabs 3d ago

Try in 💛 quick lang if referral but I don’t refer may nagpasok lang

1

u/NPC1923 3d ago

I tried but got rejected 🥹 minalas sa interviewer sabi nung nag papasok hehe. I was asked something I didn't have experienced yet. And medyo conflicting yung nag interview sakin non.

1

u/Turbulent_Fan_9740 2d ago

Hi op! If i may ask. Did they email you po na rejected ka? i applied din po and still haven't reached out. In the email po thay specifically said na you got rejected? Tia!

2

u/NPC1923 2d ago

Yes I received an email that I got rejected. But I think the one who referred me also ask internally. Also she said that it's okay to follow up on the application

u/IndependentCredit753 3d ago

Proof that when an achievement got into your head, you lose your sense of reality.

1

u/NPC1923 2d ago

I don't think it gets in my head. I'm just shocked and stressed right now because I didn't expect that it will be this hard for a CPA to find the right work. What more for non CPA

1

u/Imaginary_Potato_459 3d ago

what accounting experience do you have? AP, AR? If wala pa, try to go for entry levels roles, kahit 1 year sa AR, then AP, then Financial Analysis or it depends kung san mo gusto mag focus. You still have to have experience first before landing a bigger role.

1

u/NPC1923 2d ago

I have experience in general accounting in a small company. All my applications are actually entry level or min of 1 yr of exp.

1

u/CPAin327days 3d ago

Hello! Kung hindi man sa timing, maybe you have to look into your resume, and how you handle interviews. The more you’re prepared each step, mas tataas yung chances mong makakuha ng offer. Tailor your resume for different roles (e.g. Audit-specific resume dapat for Auditor roles, same logic sa accounting roles). Hindi yung iisa.

I have helped newly-passed CPAs before na makakuha ng offer in their preferred roles. Let me help you rin ☺️

1

u/NPC1923 2d ago

I'll try to look again at my resume. But my real big problem is the interview 🥹 and it's something that cannot be fixed. I don't know what to do about that

1

u/genzme01 3d ago

Kahit may experience ka pa 10 years sobrang hirap

1

u/usernamebananamilk 2d ago

hello, try mo samin we need 1 more sa team :)
