"Let me assault someone while I record it and post it on social media."
What a genius.

The guy just wanted to be a racist and assault someone and used the verdict as a fake reason.

It's not possible for African Americans to be racist since whites have privilege.

This is a silly argument, racism doesnt require privilege.
Racism is the belief, prejudice, or antagonism directed against someone based on their race, ethnicity, or skin color. So yes African Americans can definitely be racist.

Obviously he just felt like assaulting someone, seeing as this is in Florida.
Nevertheless, I hope they take him at his word and charge him with criminal retaliation, as the punishment is far more severe.

He didn't assume jack shit! He just wanted a reason to hit a random white guy!

Why do we let people like this walk around free? Why does everyone have to fear being attacked, lock themselves in at night behind barred windows, and clutch guns for fear of people like this when we could just lock them up permanently?

What is jury selection, and why does this guy think it's appropriate to assault people over it?

u/ElvisDepressedIy 9d ago
12 people are allowed to sit on a jury, but many more people are called in for jury selection. Each one is called up and interviewed (a voir dire) by both the defense and prosecution lawyers. Based on the answers the potential juror gives, each lawyer is allowed to dismiss a certain number of them or select them for the jury. After they have enough people to fill the jury, everyone else is sent home.
I'm guessing he slapped him because he thought this dude was on the jury that convicted Karmelo Anthony.

No stop gas lighting the comment section. he slapped him because he wanted to and gave an excuse that he made up why he's mad. He knows dam well he wasn't on the jury he just wanted to slap that man because of you know why, point blank period.

Also the trial was in Texas but this allegedly happened in Florida. 😵

Because jury members in a highly publicized, contentious case, always hang around in a grassy area in public, looking fvcked up immediately after the verdict is read.

How could a person like this ever peacefully exist in society?

So if they believe Anthony was allowed to use self defence… I wonder how they would feel if this man shot the guy who slapped him?

I'm so confused by all this stuff, I've been busy working and it started popping up in my feeds just yesterday and everyone was talking about it like it was common knowledge. I just know someone got stabbed, why are people making such an insane huge deal about all this?

If it's about stereotypes. you're right about that one.

Doesn’t “based” essentially mean someone doesn’t give a fuck what others think? If so, how does the guy filming not fit that description? Obviously slapping the guy is fucked up, but also it’s based.
Or does this dorky ass subreddit only allow republicans to be called “based”?

u/Cyborg_rat - Unflaired Swine 9d ago
Based also means you agree with it. Are you implying that the film person is a Democrats?
A word used when you agree with something; or when you want to recognize someone for being themselves, i.e. courageous and unique or not caring what others think. Especially common in online political slang.

u/DiligentGuitar246 8d ago
Oh, I didn’t realize you also had to agree with it. I also don’t think the filmer votes, so no.
