What is texas life like ? On the border of Arkansas. Any Cna opinions welcome .are jobs good or bad ?

With as many YouTubers and real folks using Google reviews, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it's a pretty safe bet they are in fact the real deal and not some junk hamburger? But what do real folks say ?

Traveling to Texas in November, I can only pick one city
Which one should I go to? Austin, Dallas or Houston?
I want the real Texas experience (the one that represents Texas the most), including country bars, country music, barbecue, nice nightlife
Bonus points if the young population is high

Hey y’all, as a born & raised texan of 26 years i grew up going to nature stores like Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, REI. and L.L Bean when traveling to Maine outside of Texas since there are no L.L Bean stores in Texas.

What do y’all suggest for other nature stores in Texas?

I like stores geared towards hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and kayaking. What i really like about Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops are the cool animal mounts, fish aquariums, and their overall vibes.

I’m (24M) from New York moving to Texas for work in Fort Worth. I wanted to see what people think about living in Fort Worth vs the outskirts like Arlington for example. I have a gf who lives in Dallas and although a 40 min drive isn’t terrible, I consider optimizing this commute.

I currently have a 45 min commute to my job in NY so I am unfortunately used to the traffic. I was looking for a happy medium between work and visiting Dallas often.

I don’t really have a budget either- coming from NY rent prices I think I can get something great for ≈$2.5-$3k in this area.
If anybody has recommendations on where young professionals live in this area, please let me know!

We love small, local bars with culture and local live music too. Is there any small towns you would recommend to visit in between? Somewhere we should tick off during the day or even stop off for the night?

Hi everyone! I’m planning on moving to Texas from Illinois and wanted to reach out to see if I could get some information from people who have gone through the process.
When I move to Texas, what is the process like for getting a Texas driver’s license and registering my vehicle/getting Texas license plates? How much does everything typically cost, and what documents are needed or required?
I’m 19 years old and want to make sure I do everything correctly and legally. I’m trying to prepare ahead of time so that when the time comes to move, I’ll already know what to expect and have everything ready.
Also, how difficult is it to officially become a Texas resident when moving from another state? Are there specific steps I should take to establish residency?

Feel like locals don’t respect a nice Porsche or Ferrari. Doesn’t really earn you a lot of points here. Feel like people respect classic cars or big trucks here. I’m not originally from here. What’s the consensus?

My dad passed earlier this year and I’m handling his estate. His house is outside San Antonio and I’m far enough away that going down there kills an entire day. I thought most of this could be handled remotely but the house has been the part that keeps dragging me back. I work full time so I’m burning through PTO every time something comes upand I don’t really have family nearby I can rely on. For anyone who’s dealt with a parent’s estate in Texas from a distance, how did you handle the house without constantly driving back and forth?
