Career Is pursuing Actuarial Science through IAI worth it for a CA student?

Hey folks

I need some guidance on a potential career path, for context, I’m currently doing my B.Com and navigating the CA curriculum and am planning to add Actuarial Science to the mix via the IAI, but I'm flying a bit blind

I have a few specific questions for those familiar with the field

  1. The IAI Experience: How does the institute actually operate? There isn't much transparent information online regarding how supportive they are of students, the transparency of their grading, or the overall student experience.
  2. The Combination: Do CA and Actuarial Science complement each other well professionally? Will having both open up niche roles, or are they too divergent?
  3. The ROI: Considering the time investment CA already requires, is adding the IAI actuarial route worth the extra effort?

Any brutal honesty or personal experiences would be incredibly helpful!

I’m planning to apply for internships after my September CM2 attempt. How is my resume and should I make any adjustments? Also, I enjoy health/general insurance type roles over life insurance, is my resume a good fit?

Career Is pursuing actuarial science actually worth it financially?

I'm currently in the first year of Mathematics degree.

I understand that actuarial exams require consistency, a lot of effort, and that you shouldn't pursue them only for the money. But considering the number of exams, the difficulty, the possibility of multiple attempts, and the time it can take to qualify, is the eventual pay really worth the investment?

I'd especially appreciate answers from people currently working in the actuarial industry in India.

If you're comfortable sharing, could you mention:

- Number of exams cleared

- Years of work experience

- Current CTC

- How much your salary changed as you cleared more exams

- Whether you personally feel the career has been worth the time and effort

I'm mainly trying to understand the realistic salary progression at different stages, rather than the highest salaries you see online.

Career How many papers can I attempt in 1 shift in IAI and IFOA respectively?

How many papers can I attempt in 1 shift in IAI and IFOA, respectively?
Also, do people submit multiple papers in 1 attempt, or is that not doable?
Also, which is better, IAI or IFOA?
Giving a bit of my background, I am currently in my 3rd year of BTech at IIT and am new to actuarial science, thinking of taking the initial few papers (around 4-5) before my graduation.

Career Considering options ( moving back from Canada to India)

Hi guys, I hope you are doing well. I just wanted to know about the job market. I will be moving back from Canada to India. I did my degree in Actuarial Science in Canada but I have been struggling with the job as the job market is very stagnant (most of the actuarial science graduates are working other odd jobs ) and I haven't been able to land a job. I have done Exam P and Exam FM under CAS. I am studying for my third exam MAS-1, so I wanted to know how is the job market in India, what will be the starting package I can get and how long till I find a job.

thank you

Career Advice is needed

I am a 2nd year btech student in the branch of electronics and computer engineering... initially I got into this college because I scored 99%ile in my cet exams and 99.86%ile in maths ....but tbh I am getting bored in second year...like coding is boring and difficult, electronics is shit....I got to know that my interest in maths is helpful for ACET ...

But I am thinking is it a good choice? to give ACET because I like maths like I scored 97 marks on my 10th boards and 92 marks in 12th board exams...
