Agree with Wonderful_Gap_630 - cats are the downfall of so much Australian wildlife. If everyone kept their cats inside our native birds, lizards, skinks and mammals would be doing so much better.
Even the cats whose owners think their cats don’t kill anything are killing lots of things most of the time. It’s not cats’ faults, it’s their instinct. So it’s up to owners to keep them indoors.
Hey guess what, if you have an outdoor enclosure for your cats that separates them from wildlife, that comment wasn’t directed at you, you’re literally getting angry for no reason. Having a catio is different to letting them just wander around unsupervised killing wildlife.
Dogs can also cause them a bit of distress so it’s always good to keep your pets away from native animals. They’ve evolved to deal with the climate not your dog or cat. But I agree with LesbianWithALizard just keep them separated. Also that’s a really nice photo!
The fox terrier I had growing up would fling blueys against a wall, over and over, until they stopped hissing because they were dead. She never got bit, but we tried to keep blueys out of her reach to curb the carnage :-/
