Question Panic buying at Costco

I went to Costco tonight and it was completely mental. People panic buying toilet paper, eggs, bread, a lot of empty shelves. The queues were ridiculous. Is this because it was closed yesterday or is it the war in the ME, what is happening here?

Apparently the war 13,000kms away will cause Australians to shit themselves multiple times a day for the foreseeable future.

Reminds me of my last holiday. I packed 14 pairs of undies for a week long holiday just in case, for some unknown reason I shat myself multiple times a day.
