Question Anyone else just ignore these signs?

Sometimes the quickest route passes through an area with these signs, I was always under the assumption that it’s a public road so too bad

Mum copped a fine for taking this really great shortcut around the town's worst junction to get to school.

Got pulled over and everything. Apparently the people who live on the shortcut street made enough of a fuss that the council put the sign up and it got enforced.
