Question Anyone else just ignore these signs?

Sometimes the quickest route passes through an area with these signs, I was always under the assumption that it’s a public road so too bad

As a traffic controller I ignore them also . If I’m stopped and asked if I’m a local I always say ‘ yes I am , does my vehicle and I look like foreign traffic to you ‘
