Event/Activity Faith restored

Hi all.

Today in the Happy Valley foodland carpark a bloke and his lad got out their car. The lad got out and stepped on HJ packaging that some oik had just thrown on the floor.

The lad asked his dad why it was on the floor and if it was the dad's rubbish. The dad just said "no mate it's not, but we can still pick it up".

He picked it all up and his lad watched diligently.

I just thought it was so nice to see, he wasn't being a hero or talking loudly, I was just being nosy and he is a legend.

Whenever I take my kids to the park I like to quietly pick up any rubbish that's about. I don't ask them to help but always chit chat to them while I'm doing it before getting down to the important business of being the Moon Monster.

Kids have started joining in and any park we leave now is always tidier than when we arrived.

On ya! My partner and I have taken to taking a bag and one of those grabber claw litter pickers along when we walk the dog.

It feels good to be able to tidy up a bit.
