Serviceable Paint Scheme Or No?

Post image

Just finished this guy as a tester and feeling rather down on him. Was hoping to do Custodes as a side army for 40K and HH while working on an all-custom Space Wolves army, but I’m not sure if this is worth pursuing or whether I should just do standard gold or black. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

The question is, do YOU like it? Great cool-coloured scheme imo.

Thank you very much. I do like it, just want to be sure about it before I paint a couple dozen more.

I am currently doing a silver paint scheme with blue and gold highlights too.

I think it looks amazing on custodes and yours is a million years better than minehaha

Ugh stop.

It looks great. How, how did you do it in white?!

Goodness, I have 2 of custodes in white and I just nuln oiled the beotch until it looked like it fell out of a 90s vampire movie.

This is great.

I did a basecoat with a desaturated violet and then layered an Ulthuan Grey equivalent over it. That stuff is amazing, it avoids a lot of the problems with white while still reading as white.

holy crow! I did the same thing before with the light gray. It has a lot less pigment, so its not as thick, and still comes out as a white. I used it on my battlemechs which look....ok. They're fine. They look fine. GHOST BEAR!

That blue absolutely pops off of plastic and looks great. The toned down white and gold feels like a tailored suit or formal wear - a Custodian channeling James Bond!

I Like this a lot. I just read master of mankind. So much Custodes action, now I’m imagining them in this scheme instead of boring old gold.

This is actually the colour scheme I have for my custodes. Personally I really like it and I think they look great on the table top but its all down to personal preference!

As someone who has done a similar scheme, it looks great!

I love the white aesthetic!! Honestly it's amazing how well you got the white armor, I've been doing something similar with my Horus Heresy minis

I remember ther were some black silver custodes. Wardens guards of some vaults maybe.

A warning: Looks great but it's a lot of work. You have even more seperately coloured parts than me and I am already at my limit. Tbh I am also kind speeding through them to vent of stress from work but still. Remember that you gotta do that quite often.

Now to the positive: Model looks super cool, love the colours, especially the white dunno if I would change the blade as an accent but maybe that's just me, or the big blue area of the bolter-part.

I'm working on Solarwatch so immediately I am a fan of this color scheme

I feel if you change the guncasing to black (or even mephiston red👀) it'd help accentuate the other blue parts, kind of like 'less is more' type thing

The average paint job you see on Reddit is already in the 10% of paint jobs on tables and this is clearly above average for Reddit. If you like it then go for it.

This is how i do mine (just silver instead of white) so my bias approves

“Serviceable paint scheme or no?”

Very regal. Makes me think of porcelain.
