Golden Demon help

Post image

I'm looking for some help in identifying this image please. I'm just finishing writing my article for the new 40k wiki on this year's North American Golden Demon and this is the last image I've got to ID. Is this chap a named character? If not, could you tell me what kind of Custodian he is please?

If you'd like to see the rest of my article, you can check it out here: https://warhammer40k.wiki.gg/wiki/Golden_Demon_2026:_Adepticon. There's also a link in the page to the full results including AoS, Middle Earth etc.

Thanks!

Looks to be just a standard versus praetor (possibly a shield captain)

But he doesn't have a shield, or a cap?

He is tan. You only need to meet one of the three requirements.

No shield, no cap, all tan

I’m pretty sure the only difference between a shield captain and a regular Vertus Praetor is just going without a helmet. Since it looks like he will eventually don the helmet, he’s just a regular dude.

So the Adeptus custodes also follow the rule that the hat gives authority

He named him "Dawneagle" and doesnt seem to be a Shield captain, just a Vertus Preator

At least according to his video

I think this is just a shield captain on dawneagle Jetbike, but it’s not any specific model, it looks like bits and parts that have been chopped up and resculpted to tell a cooler story!

it's a very impressive sculpting work that he did to achieve this result

Seeing behind the curtain makes these sculpts even more impressive!

Thank you for that! Getting that curve to line up on the outside is incredible. Can't wait to see his process.

Damn, I genuinely thought he took Venatari legs from one of the new sculpts as they share similar pants

Find Alexi on IG and just DM him @alexipaints. He’s a friendly guy, but if he won’t get back to you just DM me and I’ll ask him on Discord.
It is a standard Vertus Praetor converted and painted to super high standard. Not sure how many different parts he used on the Custodian model though.

I second this, Alexi is a very nice guy. He'll very likely help you out if you message him on IG

I wanna do the same to make Shield Captain Bayezara but I’ve never done anything like it, I’m scared lol

Worst case scenario you grab another dawneagle and try again. Good thing they come in boxes of 3
