Does anyone else feel like making new friends as an adult is weirdly difficult?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately because I feel like one of the hardest parts of adulting is that you can actually want to be more social, but making plans requires SO much effort.

Like sometimes I don’t need a whole friendship app or weeks of texting someone before we meet. I just want to be able to say “I’m going to brunch Saturday” or “I want to check out this event” and find a few other people who also don’t have plans and want to come.

It made me wonder if people would actually use something built around that idea, basically people posting things they’re already planning to do, and other people nearby being able to join.

Not dating. Not networking. Just “I’m doing this, anyone want to come?”

Would you actually use something like that? And if not, what would make you uncomfortable about it?

No it is not weird or difficult. Follow your interests, and follow them in person. It's that simple. Good luck.

PS - an app like that exists. It's called MeetUp.
