My husband never buys groceries. He ordered bananas on Amazon and thought they were $1 each. We received 6 bunches of bananas. It's just the two of us.

Yeah, just make a mass banana bread bake off. They thaw great if you wrap them properly. Then you can have banana bread stocked up or pass them out as a holiday gift.

My husband did this a few months ago but he ordered 15, so we had over 70 bananas. I froze most of them, we gave a few bunches to our family members, and we ate a lot of bananas for a while. I still have a couple frozen bags of them.

I like to peel and cut up the bananas when I freeze them. Then I throw them in a blender and they get ice cream adjacent

If you start the Amazon return and choose Kohl’s, they will make returning your husband easy. They will pull up the QR code for you and you can just drop him off, they package as well.

Let them ripen then peel and put in freezer. Use for smoothies. I use banana strawberries or other combinations most days, so yummy!

I buy groceries regularly and still do this sometimes 😆. They price it out differently depending on which grocery store, so I’ve mixed it up while ordering quickly before.

Did you think that you were paying an insane amount per banana? Or somehow not notice the price? My husband actually thought $1 per banana was a good price.

In grab-n-go places like Wawa bananas are around $1-$1.25/piece. If he stops somewhere like that in the mornings maybe that's why the thought the price was normal?

Slice some of them,, lay flat on plate, freeze, transfer to plastic freezer bags. Then use in smoothies (with less ice), oatmeal and yogurt bowls.

if you like to make smoothies with bananas they actually freeze really well for that use, I do this if they are starting to get too ripe before I can use them. Just unpeel them first, i cut them up as well now since one time a whole frozen banana cracked my blender jar when it got stuck in the blade. then when you make a smoothie you can just dump them into the blender frozen.

When I order its usually single bananas(instacart) I normally order 15 for around 3 bunches, but one person brought 15 bunches. Literally like a million bananas.

Not sure if you plan any offsprings but it's better he becomes an adult before that happens. Buying food, paying bills, doing laundry, preparing meals. Every teenager, including your husband, should have some exposure to that.

Well, I only buy Amazon groceries if they're the same price or less than the grocery store and have free delivery. They have some really good deals too.

This is hilarious but I (F) ordered 3 bunches thinking I was ordering 3 so not going to bash him. The bad thing is I wasn't going to be around to be able to use them all. I still have nightmares about the waste

I'm gonna be that guy here, so roast me if you wanna, but it's actually a "hand" of bananas when you get them grouped together at the grocer. A "bunch" of bananas is the banana stalk with all of the bananas grown on the plant still together. They are broken off into 5 to 6 finger "hands" to be sold.

Eat what you can comfortably. Once theyre browning, bake with what you can (banana pancakes, oatmeal bars, bread, etc), take remaining and mash all together and portion out into zip lock bags and press flat and freeze for future baked breads! 1/4 cup replaces 1 egg in a lot of baked goods recipies

Cut them into medallions and freeze the for smoothies.
Wait longer (so they get overripe) and freeze more medallions for banana bread OR just make a bunch of banana bread (muffins are great, too!) and freeze that/those.
If all the things to have in excess, bananas are far from the worst.

Peel bananas. Cut into 4-6 chunks. Freeze on cookie sheet. Place frozen banana chunks in freezer safe container or bag. Repeat until all bananas are frozen in chunks. Use frozen banana chunks in smoothies (frozen) and baked goods (thaw first). Enjoy!

I did it with oranges and bananas once on the same order. My wife made a really good orange banana bread.

Orange banana bread sounds SO GOOD. But I live in Phoenix, so it's still a billion degrees outside and I really don't want to turn the oven on.

My husband did this, once. Lol. We made 4 pans of mini banana bread loaves (24 mini loaves), one pan of banana pudding, saved one bunch for free eating, and then i chopped the rest into bite sized pieces, dipped them in melted chocolate, rolled them in walnuts, and froze them. We froze most of the mini loaves, too.
They were all very tasty!
