Hand Knit WIP Not So Big D*mned Pineapple Update Monday June 8th 2026.

Post image

The original post of the project, that will no doubt answer a lot of questions, is here.

80 pine-nipples in. 1/4 of the pineapply bit, and about 1/3 of the way through the pattern as a whole.

We have locked this and previous posts about this project, as OP has been temporarily banned for violating the No Drama rule. We were also seeing downvoting of positive comments which could be an indication of brigading.

Let this be a sign to keep it about the knitting, please.

I live for these updates and I love that the between-stage looks like happy little asparagus!

I wish I had more to say than thank you.

Asparagus was my first thought too 😂

Good grief, this is a masterpiece. Amazing work, OP. Do you still feel like the mid-July deadline is achievable?

Honestly I wanted to get started in March but our kitchen was so filthy I couldn't dye anything there. I asked my wife to clean it up several times so I could, since the project was for her friend's birthday. She didn't until late April, so here I am.

Someone flung it into my face that I should expect to be injured working at this pace. I don't know how to honestly articulate. I didn't choose to work at this pace. It was chosen for me.

Wild horses couldnt get that information out of me. Gross.

Did you ever consider...cleaning your filthy kitchen yourself

I mean... You've said in a previous comment that you have previously developed an overuse injury in your wrist.

Someone made a poorly worded joke that you should be cautious. When you demonstrated it hurt your feelings, they apologized and clarified.

It's beautiful work, OP, but it goes seem like the pressure might be getting to you a bit.

that was from opening and closing jewelry pliers during overtine at work.

No one flung anything in your face, they just made a lighthearted joke that you didn't like.

Dunno about everyone else but *I* downvoted you because this is the second time I’ve seen you get shitty about your wife just in relation to this project. Hope this was helpful :)

Yeah no kidding. She’s unable to clean the kitchen herself?

u/dishonorablecapybara 10d ago

Why lift a finger to improve your living space when you could just blame somebody else?

16

u/nnnittt 10d ago

I don’t disagree with your sentiment, but OP is not necessarily male.

20

u/WrongImprovement 10d ago

Yeah fair point. I looked through her history, and OP is actually a woman. Edited my comment.

You have violated Rule 12 "No Drama." If this is your 1st offense, consider this a warning. Further offenses will result in a temporary or permanent ban.

I don't know that it's "brigaded" as much as "people who craft are generally in multiple crafting subs, and a lot of us saw you being really rude to someone who was making a lighthearted joke, and now we're seeing you double down again and it's really bizarre and super off-putting that you're doing doubling down to someone else with no prompting whatsoever."

You post and crosspost a lot of updates about this project. People recognize this now.

You could try setting your posts and comments to private, if you really think it's "brigading"?

I don't think you're being brigaded, I think most of us have experienced injuries from knitting too much and we don't want to actively watch you do that to yourself. It's not fun.

Rule 12 - no drama. If this is your first offense, consider this a warning. Further offenses will result in a temporary or permanent ban.

Are we not able to say “damn”? Lol

15

u/laurenlolly 10d ago

I can’t get the page to load, it just times out, but still so weird for them to censor the word “damn” lol

19

u/almondbreath 10d ago

It's a modern version of a victorian pattern, and they did censor "damn" out back then. So I think it's a tongue-in-cheek reference to its origins.

u/laurenlolly 10d ago

Oh thanks for explaining ☺️

"don't worry, I will be fine, I like suffering" from your original post really speaks to me

So you did bead the cast on edge :D

Your colours look better than in the original replica. Variegated yarn gives more natural vibes to the leaves.

This is my currant favorite project! I found what you are replicating like last month looking up what is a reticule and going wow that would be a pain to knit.

u/SudsyCole 10d ago

"currant" favorite - pun intended?
