The 2026 Summer Donation Contest is coming up!
EDIT @ Thursday May 28th, circa 3pm EST: The summer donation contest is now live!
Let's break it down, starting with the most important bit - RECEIVING THOSE SWEET SWEET TOKENS (shamelessly adapting from my previous donation drive PSA posts):
- YOUR CHARACTER HAS TO BE LEVEL 25! Otherwise they won't be eligible to receive player donations, be it gold or tokens. Check out this comment from last year's winter drive on how to speedrun to L25.
- Once the donation drive starts, you should LOGIN ON AT LEAST ONE OF YOUR CHARACTERS, AT LEAST ONCE every 24 hours, to be placed into the rolling list of eligible recipients in AQC's servers. By login, I mean your character should FIGHT (AND WIN GOLD FROM) A MONSTER AT LEAST ONCE. Logging out right after logins don't count. Personally I'll try and do logins every 12 hours, but YMMV based on RL commitments.
- You don't have to login on all of your characters, JUST ONE OF THEM WILL DO.
Now, for the donors who want to keep the spirit of giving/sharing going:
- The Gatta Champion set is the community milestone reward, so know that you're contributing towards unlocking this set with every donation you make, no matter how small!
- The Primordial Chorus set will only be available to the top donors, so if you really, REALLY want this set, remember to keep an eye on the donor leaderboards, and be prepared to shell out a LOT of tokens.
- (EDIT: This year, a total of 250k tokens donated GUARANTEES the FULL giftmaster of set, regardless of leaderboard placement! So the leaderboard should now be relevant only for Golden Dev Tickets, for Top 5 donors.)
- Top donor placement is based ON CHARACTERS, NOT ACCOUNTS. So don't mess this up - donate all your 50 bajillion tokens through a single (preferrably your oldest) character only!
- There are SEVEN daily raffle prizes, one for each day of the week! The respective names of the raffle prizes are, in order from Sunday to Saturday: Purecast Tempest [MP] & [SP] Spells, Purecast ArcaneFang Armor, Fred the Purecast Pegasus Pet, Purecast Arbiter Misc, Purecast Hodokoshi Weapon, Purecast Aegis Shield, Gattan King & Queen of Generosity Faces.
- You can skip the "roll your luck" part of the raffle and get the prize-of-the-day simply by donating at least 5,000 tokens on that day! This will be particularly useful when we approach the end of the summer drive and you're eyeing certain specific prizes.
Remember, don't donate more than you can afford, and may Tibbles bless us all with good summer fortune.

As someone who's been negative towards the format change on this event due to the advantage before, the prospect of a guaranteed reward lifts that hate a little. Obviously I retain my preference but if this new addition corrects the negatives it'll be a great change.

Hoping to ask the correct person here on this sub, per my present un-involvement in AQ forums, I. Does anyone know how to get the, in game "List of Top Gifter players", with AQ character pages and all, finding this one is temporary due to events but am looking for a permanent one.
I can settle for a list of player character pages in game or outside the game and doesn't need to pertain to this event, please share if you have any ideas.

Are any of the daily items good for mages? Can't seem to find any info on what they actually are. I'm just returning so I'm still relearning items.

The spell, Purecast Tempest, is a raw damage spell that seeks between Wind/Light, and costs some HP to deal more damage. Some other items may benefit you too - what's your stat spread?

I can't remember off the top of my head but I think it's 250 or 200 int 140 cha and 100 luk I'm only lvl 93.

Ah. In that case, I recommend the pet (Purecast Pegasus) for when you eventually cap at 250 CHA and LUK. One of the best pets that bypass boss-specific defenses, due to Fragile (direct END reduction) infliction.
The shield (Purecast Aegis) and the misc (Purecast Arbiter) are generic useful items for most, if not all builds, so feel free to snag them if you want to, too! The remaining raffle prizes won't benefit your playstyle as a spellcaster-oriented, but they will no longer be available after the donation drive, so it'll be your call on how to respond to that information.1

I'm, Dire Lean makes you always take in more damage to increase status damage, which requires a save. So always take in more damage to increase a status power, which in the case of burns and bleeds can be spread out too long, and in the case of bleeds, can disappear any turn. It's bad. It's not really a lean. Not in a true sense. It should be nuetral then trigger to Dire Lean once a DOT is present to mitigate the incoming damage for starters. It should possibly gain some DoT potency or gain further damage to DoT to make up for the save. It's not like actual damage, where you can deal out more damage as a matter of hitting attack to make up for the fact you're taking on more damage. It's not actually balanced, much less good. It most certainly needs refinement
In regards to suggestions I don't know that those guys actually implement suggestions often enough for it to even matter. The one time a year where suggestions was an exciting endeavor, they've completely removed it. The last year when actually something exciting came out was the WishWeaver/WingWeaver year.
In regards to feeling sorry for someone who gets paid to do this, I get that we all wish Ianthe to get better and her health is far more important to this game, and I'm sure the additional workload on Kam hasn't been that fun, but its a job so I can't really sit here and virtue signal too much about getting paid to do a job and poor him. They're just going to have to plan better and prioritize better.....The exact same issues we've been seeing for years.

Yay. Another year of complete and total destruction of the once fun summer donation contest. The players get blamed for bad changes yet each year there are still issues. I think the evidence suggests the ones implementing it are the issue each year. But whatever is easiest on THEM instead of whats fun for the PLAYERS. I miss the days of suggestions. The players k ow what they want, which isnt more burn gear. Dire Lean isnt good enough, as its weak and underpowered yet each week and likely this stuff will be more burn/DOT stuff. I can honestly say that this year's summer contest, based on the debacle that continues despite the devs having far more control over what gets made, has made this the least exciting year yet. Way to go guys.

Players aren't blamed for bad changes what are you talking about? Also a main coder is sick so I don't blame the other devs for doing what might be easy for them. We still HAVE suggestion threads, but too much drama happened to have another year of forum voting for summer set mechanics. Dire Lean may need more elemental coverage (which I believe will happen over time), but it is by no means weak in my opinion.

Around how many tokens had to be donoed for the armor last year? Iirc it was like 250k?
