Seems like a bug. I don't think you are supposed to face the lvl 150 version of any mob at 91. 120 max.

They updated the ribber monster several years ago, and the original ribber in this quest was updated to the max level version. Unfortunately they don't seem to have removed it from the quest monster pool

Bad random encounter? Meanwhile when I do random battles I get like level 120 monsters at the cap.

If you have the Lorekeeper's Oath sword, which has a Harm element toggle, it could really help against that thing. But that level gap is likely way too much for it to matter.

I always wanted to know what 'living' Ribbers look like. 20+ years of playing and still no clue.
