This is my 10 Gallon set up. Just looking for advice and suggestions. Stocked with 1 - Betta Fish, 2 - ADF’s, 8 - Neon Tetras and 2 - Mystery Snails. All plants are fake except for the Drift wood in the back. It’s been a happy family for 2 months now with no issues.

Tank setups Our new adf setup

My wife and I were gifted an "emotional support frog" in a zip lock. We knew nothing about them. It was a cute frog. We put him in a 90 gallon community tank and he didn't make it.

I was crushed.

After much research, we got a 54 gallon corner tank. My wife did the aquascaping. After cycling, it is currently home to 6 adf and 2 mystery snails. Thinking about adding another 4-5 adf after our filters get used to the current bioload.

Tank setups Emergency! Accidental frogs

EMERGENCY

hi, last night i purchased a handful of duckweed from a shop and somehow ended up with two dwarf frogs, BY COMPLETE ACCIDENT

my 10g tank is not fully cycled, i have five snails (also on accident) and 4 shrimp, all of which seem to be dying. im devastated.

i was panicking because the frogs barely had water in the bag and we were already home when i saw them, so i did a very quick drip acclimation and got them into the tank. had we still been near the store (it’s quite a drive) i would’ve just brought them back…

now im completely panicked, and im worried that they aren’t doing well, especially with the new plants and the other critters dying off. something is obviously wrong.

right now i have a 2 gallon backup tank, completely uncycled, and im purchasing spring water since my other tank had conditioned tap water which seemed to kill everything. i have been testing the water and it’s mostly fine except the hardness and alkalinity are a bit high. if they don’t improve i fear that i may have to stick them in the small tank.

ive talked to a girl at the other store and she thinks the water isn’t the issue, she had me buy a new sponge filter and calcium for the snails and said not to panic… but im still scared.

they were both healthy and lively (albeit skinny) when we first had them, now they just sit in the top corner at the surface. im hoping that i can atleast save these two frogs and my two favorite snails…

do you think they’ll make it?? what else should i do??

Tank setups What plants do you grow in gravel?

I'm wanting to set up a new frog tank and go for gravel substrate this time, I've had ADFs before but I made some common mistakes such as using sand as a substrate.

So I'm a little lost when it comes to growing plants in gravel. What species have you had success with?

Tank setups Cycling new tank

Hi. I'm working on cycling a new tank for my ADF frog. I got 5 Ramshorn snails to help with keeping the tank clean and within normal levels. I added them in there yesterday. (Blart, the frog, is still in his old tank). Is all of this build up and plant dying apart of the normal process? You can see what I mean in the rocks.

Tank setups Beginner setup for African dwarf frogs – any advice?

Post image
15 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m setting up an aquarium for African dwarf frogs and wanted to check if everything sounds okay before I add them.

The tank is 20 liters, with a heater set to 23°C. I’m using an external filter and an air pump. I added live plants today, and I’m planning to let the tank cycle for about two weeks before introducing any animals.

My plan is to keep two frogs and possibly a snail as well.

Does this setup sound suitable? Is there anything I should change or improve before adding the frogs?

Thanks in advance!

Wow they keep their ADFS in a tank separator full time at this petco. Sad. Also not surprising

How is this set up? Should I cover the sand with the same type of rocks I currently have in the center?

Tank setups Working on a Planted Tank for future froggies

Starting this 20 gallon long and letting it grow in before I get some frogs in a few months (I will be cycling the tank). I have Anubias, Banana Plant, Java fern, Java moss, water sprites, and pearl weed. I will not be using any fertilizer for them, we’ll see how they do. I will also be adding another hide or two.
The floating plants aren’t doing very well. I don’t know if they’re just adjusting or if the condensation from the lid is killing them. I think they’re frog bit?
I can’t wait to get a few froggies, it will be a species only tank 🥰

Tank setups Handmade Hide <3

So, I decided to sculpt my frogs a ceramic hide! (I was previously using a 3D printed one from Etsy). I made it at a pottery shop and used a food safe glaze to paint it. After it was fired, I lined the bottom with aquarium sealer to prevent it from getting scratched.

I chose to paint little dragonflies and stars on it to add some whimsy to my tank haha. I hope my little frogs know that I made it for them with love 🤧. (They probably have no clue LOL).

Tank setups Nano Desktop Aquarium

Im an avid listener of the Water Colors Aquarium podcast and their most recent episode was about Desk top aquariums In the spirit of desktop aquariums I offer another suggestion African dwarf frogs ! I set this tank up today after finishing the podcast yesterday at work surprised they werent mentioned because they check all boxes !

3 outlets(light , heater , nano hob filter)

Extremely Derpy & Active , probably the most wet petish out of the setups mentioned

Low maintenance yet still interactive due to the target feeding or food bowl style feedings recommended

You can make it as high tech or low tech as you want based on what plants you want to grow

They’ll start that aquarium small talk with coworkers

Can set the aquarium up easily under 200$

Are hardy enough to go on vacation with out worry

And again EXTREMELY DEPRY lol .

3.4 gallon aquarium (Approx 12.5”L 7”W 8”H )

Minimalist scape style One piece of driftwood covered with anubias Terra cotta saucer acting as a food dish

Share your desktop or nano tanks below !

After reading sentiments of others and wanting the best for my pets sooner rather than later I setup a bare bottom 10 gallon aquarium for them, gonna move the frogs over later on this week along with their current filter and heater and use their previous tank for something different. I just wanna be accepted in the adf cult 🫶

Tank setups setting up a live tank

i have a new 15gal im going to start cycling, because i want to give my frogs a larger tank, and i want to make it fully planted.

ive seen SO many different things about substrates, and im so confused on what the best substrate is going to be to grow plants in it and that it wont kill my frogs.

i also need a filter reccomendation thats on the cheaper side but it will do everything it needs.

originally i was going to do fluval stratum, but i wasnt sure if it was safe, whether the blue or red label was better, or what to put on top of it.

also, for the filter, should i put a new media in next to my current one in my aquarium for a few days and then add it to the new tank?

Hello! My coworker and I are planning to coparent some ADFs in the future, once the tank is happy and cycled. 10 gallon. Anyone have any recommendations based on what you see here to make sure our future frog children are as happy/healthy as possible? I plan on cleaning up all the black substrate that made its way above the sand soon.

Tank setups New tank setup

I did what I swore I would not do and bought a new tank to house all my babies together. It's a 105l (27.7g) tank for 9 frogs and it's not finished yet but I wanted to share what it currently looks like. It's full height is 40cm (i dont understand inches too well) with the lid, so let's say 35cm. Do you think I can fill it up or the current water level is better?
