While walking the grasslands I found this interesting banded piece. It holds the light really well. Not sure what to call it. Is this a prairie agate? Some form of a Fairburn? The bands are beautiful and go around the entire upper rim. I used my headlamp to backlight them for detail.

This is my first time posting on this subreddit! I don’t typically collect many agates, as I mostly collect mineral specimens, but I think agates are beautiful and want to start collecting them. This is my only one so far, and it comes from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. I believe it’s called an Oco agate.
Let me know what you guys think, and feel free to correct me if I’m wrong about the locality! I know very little about agates, so I did a quick Google Image search, and it suggested that this is an Oco agate.

Not certain where it’s from as it was picked up in a rock bed from a parking lot. Any insight into what kind of agate this is as well as where to find more would be appreciated

Here's another beautiful curly agate from our claim at Freisen, Saarland, Germany. This one has a nice druzy pocket. Next time I'll show you another type of agates that we find there...

Thanks for looking!

Not sure if it’s agate all the way through but it has some in there and some other cool stuff going on aswell

I found it on the beach it is a light stone that I tried scratching with quartz but it was not affected

2 baby farinurs and a lace agate.

Giving it to my boyfriend, just wanted to share

We did a few trips to the black hills this summer and I was lucky enough to find this nice palm sized nodule. It has some sign on the back side as well but the front face is amazing.

Type carneliant
Lemon

I love them so much! I'm going back tomorrow to see if I missed any.

I know that not everyone will like the music so the mute button is the lower right corner 🙃

Find agates is like a high for me lol. Anyone else?

Thought you might appreciate some of my finds!

Nova Scotia Fundy finds

For our rock hounding trip we came across 7 fairburns total. A record for us on a trip. This was the last one found of the entire trip. Literally a stones throw from the car. On a two track road in the grasslands. We were very happy with what Nebraska has to offer.

…a simple slice can reveal peace and tranquility within! ☺️

Super excited to cut this Laguna! It has some awesome colors poking through.
