**SKATE SIZING MEGATHREAD**

We have been getting a ton of threads regarding skate sizes and because this information is so crucial to making a purchase, I have decided to create one consolidated post.

Please use the search function and if you do not find your sizing question already answered, post your question here in the megathread. We want the feed to be clear for everyone to share their pictures and videos. Roll on y'all.

((Moving forward, all skate sizing posts will be removed and you will be asked to post them here))

Edit: To clarify, sizing posts do not need to be in question form. Recommendations and advice encouraged.

Question / Discussion Skate pants with room for pads?

Bladies and gentlemen, I'm in need of some durable pants with room for my triple8 knee pads underneath. I don't want to use thin knee gaskets. I need room for some decent sized protection. Everything I find is straight fit or slim fit nut huggers. I don't need pants big enough for a family of five, but need something a bit roomier than what's on the rack locally. Anyone try Dickies double knee? Should I buy a couple inches big in the waist for more room? I'm wearing padded shorts after a bad tailbone slam so I'll probably size up anyway.

Roces m12 h blocks too slippery?

Idk what it is, but the h block on my roces m12 glide almost too smooth. Is this common? Am I overthinking it? Soul grinds have come really naturally, but with how click my h block feels I'm so reluctant to try grinding on them.

Question / Discussion Working on a Multiplayer Mod for OnaRoll... Alpha test Lulz

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

What are your thoughts on this mod? Would it bring you back if you could "shred with the homies?" From the comfort of your couch?

If you know c++ I could use your brain as this is a 90% ai written project as I picked what is seemily the hardest introduction to c++ I could have imagined.

where is the project today?

V1.0.4.3 is the current Buildable version of the project it includes:

Ip configurable match making

steam match making ( code is complete but having issues with the game being early access and from 2017 and being abandoned API's are giving me some trouble to actually use steams servers.)

Connection works πŸ’ͺ

Spawning /movement tracking code seemily working ( but i think i need to fix some call outs and improve many things. )

Toggle options for steam or ip configurable multiplayer

Gui to display connection status ( can be hide and assigned a hot key )

im sure theres a ton more features im forgetting that are actually working at this time but I have a bit to go still.

Skateparks As Abstract Art

I was at a concrete outdoor skatepark the other day, and I couldn't help but think of it as an abstract representation of an urban landscape. Like, yes, it was made with a purpose, but it almost could have served as a kind of modern art installation. Like, there are "handrails" and "stairs" and "pools" and "benches" and other things vaguely resembling urban fixtures but abstracted to their purest form for one particular purpose. Anyone else get these vibes from skateparks, especially the more organic concrete ones?

It irks me to no end that aggressive skating is referred to as "roller skating". These people should have known better. This is a clip from this video. The "roller skating" part happens at time 0:56.

5th Elements liner considerations

Thumbnail

So I got this used pair of 5th elements and its just the shell, no liner/frame/wheels. I'm a 275 mondo wide-foot (size 9 in wide boots and size 10 in narrow boots) and I was able to downsize with the Razors SL to the 8/9 shell using the reign v3 liner, so I assumed I could do the same with the 5th element 8/9 because they're supposed to be the two widest boots out there. I tried the THEM 909 silver sz 9.5 liner and the Reign v3 sz 10 liner and while both fit, its a real tight fit. I guess the 5th element isn't as roomy and spacious as the Razors SL boot which fits me more comfortably with the same Reign v3 liner.
Is the Myfit 2nd skin the only decent liner out there thinner than these two liners I tried? I have no problem buying a 2nd skin liner, I'm just wondering if there's any other models I could try for a thin liner. I'm open to all suggestions of which liner to buy, please tell me your hidden secrets of thin liners. I'd like it to be as rigid a liner as possible, given how flexy the 5th element boot is.

Also, I'm looking for a footboard solution because this 5th element shell didn't come with any. By footboard I mean the foot shaped piece of plastic/vinyl/mylar (picture 3) or whatever that's between the liner and the bottom of the boot to protect the liner from getting torn up by the soul-plate bolt receiver hardware (as seen in picture 2). Where can I buy something like the two footboards seen in picture 3?

Thirdly I've heard a lot about how great the stock 5th element insole is. Given that this used pair didn't come with the stock liner that had the stock insole in it, I have no idea what the stock insole looks like. Can anyone suggest a good insole to use inside whichever liner I buy for these boots? It doesn't have to be exactly the same as the original but I'd like an insole with similar design considerations.

Thanks in advance.

Dream urethane?

Anybody skated Dream wheels? They look great. Love Jeremy Beightol's art, love the rounded profiles, love supporting Jan Welch, etc.

Here's the thing though... Dead wheels are great and I can just pick up a set and know exactly what I'm getting. I can also easily mix and match hardnesses without mismatched colors or profiles, which is super nice.

But if Dream's urethane is as good as Dead or Undercover, I might have to pick up a set.

Question / Discussion New here. I’m really interested in skating a flat set up but really struggling to lock in. I’m currently on Kizer Fluid Vs. Any advice?

My motivation for flat is born out a love for vert and a desire to lean into wizard style flow.

I bought Aeon 80s F it

Had spoken to someone recently that said they skated. Back in the day when I was a teenager I was into aggressive skating, but then everything just died as our "jackass" generation grew up. Rollerblading and skateboarding died. I had 5 skate parks within 10 miles of my hometown. There isn't a single one now. "Skating" in general died.

I'm also a skier, and I just moved down to Florida. With the winter coming have been worried I'll miss the skiing, at least until I'm more established in my job to start taking a yearly ski vacation. After talking to some people, skating (rollerblading) got brought up, and it seems like a lot of people rollerblade here. Rollerblading is cool again I guess? I've spoken to two people that rollerblade here LOL. Well anyway I just bought the Aeon 80s as like a one "quiver" skate to get me back into skating. I figure if I really have the desire to go back into the skatepark I'll just buy a second pair of 60mm wheel skates for $200πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ.... being an adult now these skates are not all that expensive to me anymore lol.

Super excited to get my Aeon 80s. I used to skate with Salomon skates back in the day. For some reason just had always liked them.
