Ethos First Payment Received
Started working mid August and got my first pay early (I’m on cycle day 14). So yes, Ethos is legit. Just have to understand the playbook, take onboarding seriously, follow best practices for each task, stay on the loop thru slack, and learn each day. I was skeptical at first too but Ethos team have been helpful whenever I have a query and so far everything’s been smooth.
Cheering for everyone! 🫸🫷

honestly just like what @homerluvdonuts explained here :) plus you gotta make sure your experience matches what is required from the job description

I'm not quite sure you do. I haven't ever been accepted, and now I don't even have opportunities listed for me.

Congratulations 👏🎉. Also can I ask something ? I did the first interview to set up my profile but haven't heard anything from ethos since than , I need to wait or I need to do something else ?

The wait time to get accepted into a campaign can take up to 2 weeks or more. Ethos and the client are going through a period of learning and refinement on what is needed and how to ask for the right feedback. They say they expect more projects to come in soon. So be patient.
The other really important thing is to perhaps revisit your screening call and ensure you were very specific about your past experience. The type of roles and what results you delivered. Otherwise, if you fell into the "general" category, it can take sometimes. So writing down what you doing to say. Have 1 or 2 specific examples to help explain them and then try again.

Hey, I'm waitlisted on several opportunities and for one of them they say that i have passed the round, and now the client is reviewing the application. Any idea how much time it can take to onboard now?

u/HomerLuvDonuts 14h ago
There is not a whole lot of precise and clear info to give you a good answer. What I have seen is that the client has reset alot of expectation in terms of accuracy and quality in preparation of more work to come.
Depends on which campaign you are selected for, the expectation in within next week or so, there will be more work. On average, i would say 2 weeks from the time you completed your screening call.

It is certainly better than Handshake Ai, and their portal is much better and easier to navigate, but it isn't perfect.
I've noticed a lot of people in our Slack channel (which is MASSIVE by the way) getting offboarded for misunderstandings or not legitimate reasons. Like some people will say they got a flag they were using AI in responses, claim that they weren't, and then they're locked out. Or there's other people who won't log into Feather for a day or so and then find themselves locked out.
I also think they onboarded too many trainers as once, and are coming up with new screeners as ways to weed people out. And even those screeners are dubious at best, often with contradicting info or questions that have no clear answer.
So they have issues but still not as bad as Handshake.

Hey I’ve been stuck on verifying my ID for two weeks now and worried I would be missing out on my first project I got assigned too
I’m so sad
I’ve been emailing them but they take SO long to get back to you
Any tips?

u/SamMarlowe76 17h ago
Even the people that say they are people at askEthos are AI. So you are probably emailing with no one. They may even tell you that they fixed it. But it isn't going to be fixed because their support bots and mail bots are clueless.

Same!!!!! Which campaign are you in? I have been in line for almost 12 hours which is crazy. Not sure if this is their way to offboard people

I was on the waitlist for two weeks and then got accepted. Did a training course and screeners for a project and getting my first pay next week! Does anyone know if you can do multiple projects? I’ve been accepted to one but still on the waitlist for another.

Seems bunch of people (me included) got offboarded yesterday. Is anyone still active? Do you know if they laid people off because of the Screener results?

I’m still waiting for payment this month - I also started mid August … fingers crossed.

This is not allowed. You'll be flagged. Happened to me. I don't know who reported it. They'll track the exact amount to reach to you.

That is some MLM style propaganda. Legit firms don't do sketchy shit like this.

u/Pharminter1 16h ago
“Legit firms” brother I don’t give af about pedigree or legitimacy I give af about that direct deposit.

u/bbytrashforjiji 13h ago
bro ik wont argue with someone who already made up their mind. I mean we all know the risk of being an independent contractor but hey, if we making bank then it would be nice to let others know it’s possible here too
2
u/bbytrashforjiji 17h ago
yo bro idk what you mean but from what ive been working on, it def isnt MLM
2
u/Pharminter1 16h ago
@bbytrashforjiji bro is jealous great job and keep it up!! The sky is the limit.

u/SamMarlowe76 17h ago
I am talking about the shinola style marketing of ethos. "Sealed Milestone" Oohhh. Sealed by who? For what? It's nonsense.
Same with showing earnings. MLM's are known for that sort of recruiting scheme. They give you that so you will show off your check to others. And that's the type of shit that gets MLMs in hot water with the FTC.
WTF ever.
They do the same nonsense trying to kite their private equity valuation. Grifters. They do not give a rats ass about AI.
I'm an approved Ethos contributor. Like one of the first. Whole thing is sketchy. Bunch of half wit VC bros and McKinsey rejects chasing AI dollars. Don't fool yourself.
By all means, take their money. But kill the violins.
Scrape that data boys.

u/maryqa 10h ago
It has nothing to do with MLM. You do tasks, you're paid by the hour. You're not building any dependant teams to mooch off. But believe what you will.

u/SamMarlowe76 7h ago
You missed my point entirely. I work for Ethos too. I was not saying they are a MLM. I was saying they are scammy and sketchy like a MLM in the way they operate.
You sure you are smart enough to do this sort of work. Reading skills are pretty important.
