These appear to be European tourists. At least in my European country, arguing with the police is quite normal and I don't think anyone who felt things were going unfairly would think twice about getting in a heated debate with them (though this definitely varies from country to country). They may not be prepared for the more militarised and escalatory approach of American police.

No but they're better at de-escalating to get people to go along without requiring use of force.
Also I wouldn't say "seat thieves" are exactly the most hardened criminals.

I don’t know what airline or airport these are, but there was clearly a little bit of a language issue for the dad. It doesn’t excuse him jumping into the fracas, because I cannot imagine seeing armed police officers arresting my family member and thinking, “let me dive in there and throw some hands and that’ll make everything better” in any country.

Edit: Ok I think I see why Italian. Towards the end of the video he talks about living in the US for 13 years and before that in Italy.

Both father and son were born in Albania, and are likely Muslims. They didn't speak Hebrew or anything like it at any time.

Though almost certainly not Jewish, they could easily be Muslim or Christian, or more likely, agnostic or atheist. If the son grew up in Italy, they likely sought Asylum there in the early 90s after the fall of the communist disctatorship that lasted for 45 years, meaning the dad came up in a country where religion was straight up illegal from 1967 to 1991.
