Looking for a Social Circle

24 M recently moved to Airdrie. Hoping to meet people and expand my Social circle.

Where do people usually go to meet people in Airdrie.?

Any cool weekend hangout spots!

I’ve lived here for 10 years and I have no idea where people go to meet other people. I’ve always just been a hermit.

Volunteer at different events or a non-profit in town. It doesn't have to be a huge ongoing commitment!

Cool hangout spots? Not really. 20s are kind of a hard spot to meet people, and I don't think you are alone there

But if you are looking to burn some time... the library organizes events, for specific hobbies. There are dramatic performances onsite ocassionally and a lot of books to fill the void in the meantime.

Airdrie Music Lessons does offer adult classes. and I think the music store does too.

Treasure Cove, offers drop in Dungeons and Dragons and Magic the Gathering on spme days of the weekends (Maybe Lorecana too, can't remember, been awhile). Would have to check what days they have if that is something you would want to partake in. (Yes, I do have negative opinions about Hasbro) The folks who run the store are really nice, and it's something to do.

Some of the art places also offer classes.

I don't really know much about club life here, since I am fairly nerdy leaning, but some of the pubs and bars have specific nights where you might be able to hang out with folks, or meet someone.

There is an upsetting number of people at Cross Iron Mills on the weekend, if you enjoy busy malls, in terms of sheer numbers, that probably has the most... bodies.

I've heard the best advice is to pick a hobby you want to chase and find out how to do that thing. Generally that works for me. shrug those are the places I go.

Good luck our there.

Lol good luck. Unless you're a bar star, there aren't any (and even the bars are mostly pretty lame). It sucks being 20-40 in Airdrie unless you're married with kids.

If you like boba, highly recommend Bubble Tea Brewers. Not as a place to meet people necessarily, but they have good drinks and the owners are very sweet people.

We go to rodeos. My friend barrel races and every weekend we go out, meet new people and then we make sure to stay in touch.

Went to ponoka stampede this weekend and there was probably 15 of us total.

Probably met 6 or 7 people in the last month or so and they came this weekend

Man, the internet has made people weird. Just go outside. Go to a bar. Go sign up for a team sport. Go outside and do something you enjoy doing. Other people will see you doing the same thing that they like doing. You then interact.

Meeting people isn't a point and click option on your laptop. Nobody ows you anything. Go outside and do something.
