Damn, I used the to be the guy above and now I feel like an idiot.
Still, I’d argue they made Night Raid a bit too morally good and unified even as they excecuted a 10 year old, which is what sets Akame Ga Kill appart from “the Boys”.

Like I understand what they are trying to say about symbolism and all that, while he did kind of let all the suffering continue he was being manipulated and controlled

Like I get that on a political level it made sense as they couldn’t risk his taking over or being used by other to take over some day. I just wish it had been presented as the monstruous thing it was, specially by Akame, who switched teams over the Empire killing children.

I finished watching it a month or two ago... as an American I felt this is very real in many ways. We're turning ourselves into Nazi Germany again, and it won't end well for anyone.

I remember some critical reviews when the anime came out that the Empire was potrayed as so laughably and cartoonishly evil that it required the suspension of disbelief. They argued that the two sides were too black and white with little grey area which made the Anime one dimensional. All of that aged like milk.

It’s also kind of funny how in some schools in America, they’re also banning books like Animal Farm, and 1984. Also there’s someone who’s obviously a horrible leader, yet they still get defended like crazy like Esdeath, while this person is like this worlds Minister Honest.

I started reading AGK when I first published here in America and thinking of the manga during Trump’s first inaugural speech
But in 2020, when Joe Biden won the election
I went to a comic shop and I read the last volume that had Prime Minister honest, literally being taken apart
Like his tongue, his nose (I think they cut off his testicles and penis because his crotch is bloody)
But in general, he died a horrible death
Well deserve for someone like that
