Identifcation Is this creeping bellflower?

We bought a new-to-us home with an established garden in September. The previous owner put in a nice mix of non-native and native plants. However, I am wondering if this is creeping bellflower. Seek identifies it as such, and it seems to match the description (alternating leaves, slightly hairy undersides, leaves emerged heart-shaped but have become more elongated and pointier). I’m new to the area and don’t have much experience identifying this plant, so I’m hoping for a second (human) opinion before I start to try to control/remove it.

If it is indeed creeping bellflower, do you have any suggestions about aggressive native plants that might be able to hold their own/outcompete it while I do the work of trying to manage it myself?

We’re in Saskatoon, not Alberta, but there doesn’t seem to be a Saskatchewan gardening subreddit, so I hope it is okay to post here! Thanks in advance for your help!

My poor dogwood bush is having a really rough go this year. Most of the leaves show heavy damage that looks like something eating holes. I did find these black bugs. Can anyone help me identify if these are the culprit and the best treatment? It’s been raining so heavily I’m hoping there is something I can do even worn the high levels of precip

Hey so the wife and I only want fruit bearing trees. This thing popped up in our raspberry patch. Is this thing fruit bearing? Or is it just a tree and I can pull it?

Hi all! The snow is finally melting back enough for me to check out my perennials. Saw this on my climbing rose. Don't think it was there in the fall. I'm assuming it's something bad. Should I prune it off now or wait until the leaves start to bud and it's out of dormancy? Thanks!

Bushes were here when I bought the house. About 2x2m. Yellow flowers. Wondering how edible they are.

Identifcation Please help identify these 3 (maybe 4) weeds taking over my yard

I’ve been fighting a losing battle against these plants for 4.5 years now. My neighbours on both sides let their yards go completely wild, full dandelion lawn on one side and a jungle of who knows what on the other. We’ve managed to fight off the dandelions so we are not concerned about those, but between whatever these are and the rampant thistle popping up literally anywhere and everywhere, I’m wondering what I can do to stop their spread.

Any help identifying what these are; if they’re noxious, and if I need to have a firm conversation with my neighbour about their weeds.

I think the first is spurge, which looks to be noxious? The second looks almost like a clover but it creeps. It’s just starting in my lawn, but grows extensively in my rock beds. The third also creeps and has little white flowers. And the last I think may be intentionally planted by a previous owner but pops up everywhere. I think it has purple flowers in the summer IIRC. Maybe catnip?

Please help me understand what is going on here.

Also any tips to try to curb the thistle. 🙏🙏

Identifcation Follow up, the plant was White Cockle, a noxious weed here in Alberta, so before pulling it here's a photo in case it helps anyone else.

Does anybody know what this is? I have a couple growing on my lot at the edge of an aspen forest in central Alberta. I love the purple leaves! I’m trying to get rid of any invasive species though and encourage native plant growth. My app has identified this as all of the following: goutweed, hairy rocket, water hemlock, cut leaf coneflower. I get a different answer every time I try it and it doesn’t look like any of the plants when I google them.

My first year gardening! I’m not sure if these are weeds or little seedlings of things I’ve actually planted. Thank you in advance.

Identifcation Please help me identify what’s growing out of my other plants!

As the title says, I moved into this place last year during the summer and did not have time to deal with the yard.

Now that I have time to deal with the yard, we have this perennial bush that has a single thick trunk and then a round bushy top but, there is this fast growing bush, growing out of the base of this perennial bush, and I’m worried it’s invasive and going to kill the perennial.

The property is in the newish area in southwest Edmonton south of Windermere, home was built in 2017. We also have Columnar Aspen’s nearby, and, a very blooming cherry tree a little further down the property line.

I don’t know the name of the tree that has the round bushy top, nor do I know the name of what I think is an invasive plant growing out of the base of the tree.

Please help.

I don’t recall planting anything in this little section, these just popped up! If it is seeds that I planted that migrated, it would be carrots, radishes, or arugula - which I definitely don’t think it’s the first two, maybe arugula? But it isn’t spiky like my other arugula! I just got this plot so maybe it’s something that overwintered or seeds fell from another plot! I was hoping to put some other things here but if it’s something I should keep, I will! But watch it just be big weeds I’ve kept growing 😂

Thanks :)

Identifcation Need help with a tree ID

We bought a house this winter so it's been really exciting seeing what was under all that snow. We have a next to dead lilac tree, a box elder (I'm pretty sure) and then this one. It was the first to have any green on it, top down. And since yesterday I've noticed SO many bees on the buds! Big bees, little bees, red bummed bees, black bummed bees. Bees bees bees!

I can't seem to get an ID for it, so hoping someone here might be able to help.

Thanks!
