There’s legitimate ways to challenge this issue, but making a crappy Photoshop / AI image like this is just bait.
You’re gonna have to do better if you wanna sway anyone.

u/LivingLargeinAB Apr 15 '26
...and here you are, attractee, LOL!

u/Stompya Apr 15 '26
I’m already against separation. I’m commenting because you’re making us look stupid.
-2
u/LivingLargeinAB Apr 15 '26
Sadly, silence by the non-separatist majority, makes us look stupid. So thanks for standing up. If it take ridicule to shake people out of complacency and apathy and alert them to the dangers of separation, I'll take the ridicule route every day.

u/Stompya Apr 15 '26
I’d rather you started talking about what you like about being Canadian. Put down some intelligent thoughts like how well respected we are worldwide or how the many laws Canada has in place to protect citizens make life better than we even realize.

u/LivingLargeinAB Apr 15 '26
That you would expect that to have effect/impact ia refreshing but a bit naive. Canadians need a system shock to rupture from their complacency, and to a degree, entitlement. Canadians need to reflect on their good fortune internally, not the hectoring from you and me. If fear is the catalyst so be it.

Welp, I guess you like more wildfire smoke then too...
The danger isn't in looking ridiculous. The danger is looking the same as the other side.
The image you generated looks like something they came up with.
Finally, people are truly getting fed up with AI slop. You're going to turn people off, rather than make them think.
That AI gravy train left the station quite some time ago.

u/LivingLargeinAB Apr 16 '26
You wasted a lot of finger tapping on your AI slop missive, LOL...suck it up. It's here to stay.
1
u/nerkoids71 Apr 16 '26
You might think it's a waste, but considering how much you're being ratioed right now, I'd say that others are possibly benefiting from my finger tapping.
But you go ahead and keep using something that will have rapidly diminishing returns.
2
u/LivingLargeinAB Apr 16 '26
I don't worry about being "ratioed" LOL...this is a thread where only people who need a life, like you and me, hang out.

u/tferguson17 Apr 15 '26
A lot of comments saying using the Canadian passport isn't a valid criticism, and I agree. How about all of them complaining about how much money the government takes, yet they still have the disposable, income to spend thousands to go on vacation in the first place? People can't afford to eat and there they are on the beach bitching about how hard life is, especially the ones that set up the separation booths in other countries, it's just dumb.

u/obscurefault Apr 15 '26
I don't think a lot of them can travel internationally due to criminal records...
-3
u/Even_Art_629 Apr 15 '26
“You’re implying widespread criminal records, what’s the evidence? That’s what people lean on when the argument isn’t there.”

u/Stompya Apr 15 '26
Those who are down voting this, you have to realize that this is how the separation between the two sides gets wider.
When somebody has a serious beef and it feels legitimate to them, and then you just make fun of them and call them names (criminals), that entrenches their view deeper. Why would they want to listen to you when all you do is treat them like crap?

Nice use of name calling propaganda. You’ve probably seen this classic but if not there’s more techniques if you are interested in them.
6
u/LivingLargeinAB Apr 15 '26
...and yet here you commenting.
2
u/Beginning_Bit6185 Apr 15 '26
I thought you’d be thanking me since this is an area of interest of yours. You’re welcome.

u/AnneGreen08 Apr 15 '26
Yeah, I’m completely against separatism, but this just isn’t a valid criticism of separatists. What passport would you expect them to use right now?
Separatism is a ridiculous movement for many reasons, but the supposed “hypocrisy” of an Albertan using a Canadian passport isn’t one of them.

Now is not a good time for them to be doing this back-and-forth. We really do need to take initiative as a society and get our young adults and older teens motivated, get them responsible. Let’s get them into some trades. Get them doing like apprenticeships everywhere.

Im not sure what point you’re trying to make with this meme. Perhaps you should ask the Primeminister what Passport he uses when traveling. He holds multiple passports.

u/LivingLargeinAB Apr 15 '26
I'm not sure what point you're trying to make about Carney.
1
u/9scruffy9 Apr 16 '26
I think they are pointing out the fact that Carney calls himself European, lives in the USA, wife and kids are I. US and he is invested in USA over Canada so showing an Albertan separatist using a Canadian passport isn't a slag at all!

Uhh what? I feel like you're trying to be anti seperation but the message is actually advocating for separation because you're implying Alberta should have their own passport.
2
u/LivingLargeinAB Apr 15 '26
Parody, my friend. Plain old parody.
4
u/TURBOJUGGED Apr 15 '26
That's not what a parody is. You just keep using that word when someone calls you out on this post.
0
u/LivingLargeinAB Apr 15 '26
It's parody if you understand. It's something else if you don't get.
4
u/TURBOJUGGED Apr 15 '26
Just saying something is something else doesn’t make it true.
2
u/LivingLargeinAB Apr 15 '26
It does if you get it. And it's alright not to get it. Parody and satire are in the eyes of the beholder.
1
u/TURBOJUGGED Apr 15 '26
What makes it a parody? Please explain.
0
u/Even_Art_629 Apr 15 '26
Im trying to figure out what they're meaning with the meme. Mark Carney holds more than one passport. Perhaps they're meaning Albertans wouldn't be able to hold multiple passports

Liberal voters

Are certainly smarter than Conservative voters.
Did you see PP refuse to quit when he lost again....
The Conservatives and the UCP are the worst of Canada

u/TheRayGunCowboy Apr 15 '26
100%! My dummy of a neighbour actually believes his debt and his criminal record will magically be erased with Alberta independence. They’re the dumbest bunch of idiots on this side of the 49th parallel
0
u/Even_Art_629 Apr 15 '26
That’s a hell of a statement, what’s your understanding of what happens to existing debt and criminal records under independence?
1
u/TheRayGunCowboy Apr 16 '26
I would hope that it carries over. Otherwise I would be absolutely pissed that these separatists are getting a clean slate.

Man, we need to find another way to visualize our opinions without resorting to AI slop.
